DON'T save that extra $50 or so a night to book this HOTEL. It was a horrible experience. I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE. BOOK A 5 STAR HOTEL. I promise you, YOU will be much happier and safer. The first night I checked in, the front desk FAILED to mention to us that there wasn't any hot water or AIR CONDITIONING. It wasn't till the next morning I asked the front and then they told us that it is broken till Monday (which was not true, because when I came back on Monday night, THE SIGN WAS STILL THERE that said it was broken). Another thing is the front desk worker failed to give us the right information or be of any help to us when we asked about the Forbidden City (which they SHOULD KNOW MORE THAN ANYONE SINCE THE HOTEL IS LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT TO IT) We asked the front desk and she told us on the day we were planning to visit which was a Sunday, "IT WAS CLOSED". She misinformed us and almost caused us to missed visiting the forbidden city. Luckily we spoke to some other foreigners like us and they told us the forbidden city wasn't close on Sundays. Lastly, this did it for me to write this review. At the front there is a huge sign that says "CURRENCY EXCHANGE", and when asked to do a currency exchange after walking several blocks back to the hotel, the front desk said "NO CHANGE". So I point up and ask what was this sign then? she said I don't know. Spend a bit more and you will have better service, and a better experience in Beijing. I left that place as soon as I can.

Excellent LOC, breakfast, safe for Solo travel.
Excellent & safe location. Definitely get the breakfast, worth it as it will save time during your travel. It is 20min walk to Forbidden city entrance. Nearest metro station is 13-17 min walk. Nearest bus stop is 2-3 min walk. Very quite neighborhood right in the middle. Wangfujing is < 15 min walk. Rooms are small but perfect for comfortable sleep. Rooms needs some TLC & proper cleaning.

Ok stay
Conveniently located in center of city. 10 minutes walk to Wongfujin and forbidden city. Beds not made daily and sheet not changed until requested. A lady at night shift did not bother to help me got my iPhone get on WiFi. Keep saying I couldn’t get WiFi because I have an iPhone. I ended up did not have internet for a few days. Another lady easily signed me up to internet. With all that said, the front desk responded well to requests. For example getting the bathroom clean because of bad smell and getting more toilet tissue. Daily cleaning was limited to sweeping the floor and empty garbage cans. Overall, most staff members were friendly and helpful. I guess you get what you pay. Kit

feel like local and noise free and good.
Main shock was the name of the Hotel. It is totally diffrent. I was confused that should I stay or go search for the Hotel which we booked. Then I compared the Phone number and location is same. Then we started to stay.

The hotel has a very good quality-price relation. Do not expect a luxury hotel for what you pay. But the rooms and the bed are comfortable. The location is excellent. Only one person from the reception was able to speak in English, and that is good enough compared to other hotels in the country. They ask for a cash deposit of 100 Yuan for the key and they do not accept any other currency.
