I chose this hotel as I was visiting the nearby Speyer and Sinsheim museums and wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful as I was travelling on my own. Though in a quiet small residential area, I found the hotel easily enough, but my stay didn't start well as I turned up after 9pm and the hotel was dark and closed up. After thinking I might have to sleep in the car a quick call to Expedia managed to rouse the caretaker and I was let in to the secure car park. He was apologetic and said they didn't get many people tuning up late in the evening on weekdays, plus with it being off-season I was the only guest that night. The single room was quite small but had a nice balcony overlooking the courtyard and fields, and had a decent en-suite bathroom. Bed was comfortable enough though for some reason in Germany they tend to be stingy on beding and pillows- by the time I noticed I was too tired to ask for more and ended up having a decent sleep anyway.
Being the only guest it was nice and quiet, and in the morning the caretaker had made a very nice full breakfast in the downstairs bar/restaurant, with fresh meats, bread, fruit, tea and eggs etc. I had a good chat with him in my broken German while I ate and left feeling refreshed with a full stomach.
All-in-all a nice small hotel, breakfast was very good and it's a decent location. A bit of a drive to/from the autobahn and the small towns surrounding it are very quiet. I would stay again, but ring ahead this time!
