    Great location but underwhelming service.

    Oceanfront room was amazing - but expensive. Downside was COVID reduced service levels. Also disappointing were the pool bar hours (closed before sunset), and pool service - fetch drinks and food yourself from the bar not a big deal, but also had to clean chairs and lounges from prior occupants as everything was in do-it-yourself mode, which again is ok but not for what the resort charges for the location and amenities. Very limited availability within the spa for services. No offer from valets for luggage service when checking in or leaving - again, not a big deal but surprising for the level of service you would expect from a resort with high ratings.

    Good but needs updating still

    We had very high expectations based off of the reviews, and although everyone was extremely friendly, There’s still some updating that is needed. We arrived in the evening, we were greeted promptly but unfortunately required valet parking. This was a needless extra cost, and although very nice to have my car brought up, the parking lot was very close and if there was an option to opt out I definitely would have. The staff were very attentive, extremely pleasant and professional at all times, so kudos to them. Our room although was relatively clean, did require some updating. Some of the furniture was quite old, and our outside patio was in rough shape. Unfortunately the pool was still under construction and was quite loud and although they gave us a resort credit and provided us with transportation to a neighboring location for their pool services, unfortunately it probably wasn’t worth the time and effort to go that far. Unfortunately a lot of the island closes down relatively early due to short staff, and this resort was no exception, but the pool bar closing down quickly at 7 PM, I understand the world we’re living in now, but it just wasn’t ideal. The indoor amenities and dining option although expensive, was extremely good. I thought the main lobby and dining area was very nicely laid out. The outdoor area although, obviously on a construction due to the pool, was very nice and we enjoyed yoga in the mornings overlooking the ocean. Ideal location

    Hotel was excellent, the pool area was beautiful and you could walk to the beach, there were plenty of bars and restaurants to walk to from the hotel. The staff was also amazing, they were all so polite and helpful.

    the room was musty smelling and the shelves were falling off the wall. and there was nothing to the basic pool side so dont understand why they charge the $40 resort fee... Old property that looks renovated about 10 years ago but needs better upkeep.

    Our stay at Koa Kea was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay and our time in Kauai seamless. For example, when we mentioned a specific area that we were excited to hike, they came back with maps of the area and waters. We can't wait to go back!

    The service was great, the beds were too soft, the property was beautiful, the Red Salt restaurant was horribly overpriced, food mediocre at best, and the hostesses could care less. Besides that it was a very pleasant stay. Beautiful property!
