About Barceló Raval, Barcelona

Design hotel with roof terrace and pool near Boqueria Market

8 minutes to Las Ramblas

Barceló Raval is an 8-minute walk from Las Ramblas, downtown Barcelona's thriving main artery and the first stop for many visitors. There you'll find the Liceu Metro Station, where you can catch a ride up to Plaça de Catalunya, the city's central square, and beyond.

Beloved Barcelona market

If you want to visit a classic Barcelona market, its tables piled high with fruit and nuts, Boqueria Market is a 5-minute walk. You can then wander down to the Gothic Quarter, 15 minutes away, with its winding alleyways lined with tiny, family-owned shops and tapas bars.

Cocktails by the pool

The B-Lounge offers cocktails and tapas, but nothing beats the view from the top floor 360º Terrace, where you can sip drinks while enjoying panoramic city views. The rooftop pool and sun terrace have a decadent feel, and the fitness center and sauna are extra relaxation options.

Free WiFi, iPod® docks

The hotel's 186 rooms and suites are spacious and bright, with loft-like open plans, floor-to-ceiling windows, and all-white interiors with bright color accents. Hi-tech perks include iPod® docking stations, flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, and minibars.

Robbed as we were checking in
This hotel is in the absolute worst neighborhood! As we were pulling into the parking garage at the hotel upon check in, someone attempted to car jack us and was unsuccessful, so he robbed us and stole our bags out of the back seat of our rental car. The police were all over, there was a bomb squad parked outside, homeless people sleeping all over on the sidewalk. The hotel was kind enough to refund us the full amount of our stay, since we did not feel safe enough to stay there, but it took a few days. It was a big disappointment because the hotel itself was beautiful and clean.

STAY HERE or regret it
Hands down the best night stay of my trip in Europe. The turn down service is worth any price you want to charge and the "room sent" options had me in love. Everything was amazing - thank you so much.

The hotel itself is quite nice. The staff speaks English very well, as does almost everyone in Barcelona. Breakfast is on par with other hotels in Spain, which is to say pretty weak. Definitely not worth it. The rooms are fine. Try to be high tech without succeeding but that's ok. The bathroom sink is in the main/bed room. That's weird. Bed is by far the best in my multiple weeks throughout Spain; however you can't really enjoy it. The reason I rate this hotel a 1/5 is because of the neighborhood. In the 4 nights I stayed in this hotel I was woken up by street noise multiple times every night with 2 times being so late and so obnoxious I had to ask the hotel to call the police. One night there was a drum circle outside my room from 6 pm to 3 am. Another night a man set up his guitar and speaker system and played from 130 to 4 am. Even on the 8th floor I heard every voice and every yell (lots) from the road Related to that, the area was by far the least safe area I experienced in Spain surrounded by terrible restaurants. Other than this neighborhood I never felt unsafe in my entire trip, but every time I got 50 feet from the hotel I started planning escape routes. They put a luxury hotel down in the middle of the ghetto. Also, their "free" wifi requires a working email address that you MUST sign up for spam emails from them to access. That's not free and is simply unacceptable.

The hotel is in a dirty seedy neighborhood. It is the first place in Spain in 2 weeks where I did not feel comfortable. The hotel itself is nice with the most comfortable bed in Europe. However, it is completely ruined by the neighborhood. The hotel's rooftop bar plays loud music until 1 am. Then after that the street people take over. Our second night the street people played loud music until I forced the hotel to call the police. Then at 6 am the street people took over again with loud arguments that I could hear every word from the 8th floor. Pick a better neighbourhood. Shame because the bed is so good
