É com alguma tristeza que constato a degradação do Hotel Hala. Pela terceira vez que aqui fico, ao longo de cerca de quinze anos, encontrei um hotel muito diferente daquele que conheci: quartos envelhecidos, equipamentos a necessitarem de uma renovação urgente e uma piscina imprópria para utilização, com a água completamente verde. A isto somaram-se festas no exterior, com elevado ruído durante a noite, prejudicando o descanso dos hóspedes. É uma pena que um espaço com tanto potencial não receba o investimento e o cuidado que merece, pois o turismo na Guiné-Bissau precisa de infraestruturas à altura da hospitalidade do seu povo.

O que mais destaco neste hotel é a atenção dos funcionários, que foram sempre muito simpáticos, educados e atenciosos durante toda a estadia. Por outro lado, acredito que alguns pontos poderiam ser melhorados. O hotel, que antigamente fazia parte da rede Sheraton, aparenta estar um pouco antigo e desatualizado em vários aspectos. O café da manhã também é bastante repetitivo, com poucas opções de frutas e sempre o mesmo sabor de suco. Além disso, frequentemente precisávamos solicitar itens básicos no quarto, como toalhas, papel higiênico e outros produtos que às vezes esqueciam de repor durante a arrumação. Outro ponto que não nos agradou muito foi o restaurante do hotel. A comida não é das melhores e os preços são bastante altos, então particularmente não recomendo fazer as refeições por lá. Ainda assim, considerando os padrões da Guiné-Bissau, acredito que o hotel consegue oferecer um certo nível de conforto e qualidade. Porém, comparando com hotéis de outros países, ele fica abaixo do que normalmente se espera.
