A perfect Tahiti residence
From our reception upon arrival to porter who put our bags in the car on departure, everybody was pleasant, helpful and positive. We have been to this hotel several times and it never fails to bring pleasure. The gardens and grounds are beautifully groomed and we have watched the sunset over Moorea many evenings from the restaurant during a fine meal.We plan to return many more times in the future.

Remote location but breakfast is generous
We stayed at the Intercontinental Tahiti for three nights before our cruise through the islands. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The bed was especially comfortable and the pillows very nice. I'd recommend getting the breakfast included as there are literally no restaurants nearby. The breakfast is a buffet, quite large and comprehensive. One thing you need to know, though, is that the hotel's location is a bit remote. We walked to the nearest "town", but was only composed of a Walmart-type store. There is a shuttle to Papeete, but they charge for it. We did sign up for the Dolphin Center's "encounter", which was well worth the money. You can observe the dolphins for free, as well as the turtles, but being in the water with the dolphin and trainer, learning about dolphins and seeing them react to commands is amazing. We didn't "swim" with the dolphins, which is available, but were in waist-high water with one, which was sufficient..

A Beautiful Resort on a Beautiful Island!
Absolutely loved the Intercontinental Resort in Tahiti. I highly recommend staying in one of the Over-the-Water-Bungalows. It makes you feel like you are all alone on a private island getaway, instead of just being in a simple hotel room that could be anywhere. If you are there on a Friday, be sure to book the Polynesian Buffet and Tahitian Dance Show which takes place around the pool/lagoon with the island of Moorea and the sunset as a backdrop! The hotel is not far from the airport, and they offer day-rooms and use of the resort facilities if you have a midnight departure to LAX or AKL. I will definitely be back!
