Look NO Further! Best hotel!
From check in to check out, our stay at Algila Ortigia Charme was a wonderful experience. The staff was professional, welcoming and made us feel like a priority during our stay. The front desk even assisted us in contacting 2 other hotels on our itinerary to iron out arrival/parking details. The decor of the hotel was so pretty inside that we actually wished we had more time to spend enjoying the comforts of the property. If you have the option to reserve a room with a terrace facing the sea, I highly recommend it. The view and sound of the brilliant blue waves crashing on the rocks at the water's edge is something I will keep in my memory for years to come. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff did their best to help us accommodate my daughter's tree nut allergy when choosing foods from the buffet. This was our first visit to Ortigia/Siracusa, so I did not know if I was picking a good location, but the hotel is positioned perfectly for touring the historic center! I feel like the hotel offered the best of an updated historic charm with the best of modern efficiencies. Our air conditioning was great, even in Italy's hottest summer in 60 years! Minibar fridge was fully stocked with waters and sodas, all of which were complimentary! and the WIFI was working. Beds were comfortable. The hotel even offered us free phone calls to the USA from our rooms, which I've never heard of! Can't find anything short of good things to say. My family can not wait to return to Ortigia!

Very Good 8.0
Excellent property with a score of 9 out of 10
It's a lovely property, and I recommend the hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, excellent bed, pillows and sheets. Smart lighting. Fast wifi. Our room had a balcony that fronted a narrow lane, which would have been nicer had there not been construction in the building directly across the way at a distance of maybe five or six meters. Another downside was the air conditioning. There simply was none, which was a surprise since the room was advertised as having a/c. We kept the door to the balcony opened for fresh, cooler air, though we had to close it due to the sounds from the street -- motorini without mufflers, tourists and locals talking excitedly, and of course the construction across the way. The hotel staff brought us an electric fan which helped, though it didn't remove the sting of paying for something -- air conditioning -- which we did not receive. One other complaint: the counter in the bathroom is wood and the faucet is poorly designed so that water collects all around it on the wood counter. After every use we had to wipe it free of water which was a bit of a nuisance. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good, and we appreciated the choice of coffee beans to suit one's taste. That was an unexpected touch.

Lovely place to stay
We have recently stayed at this hotel for one week - the room was beautifully decorated and spacious with Bvulgari toiletries. Bath towels are all lovely and fluffy and the bath room was well equipped including hairdryer. Our room had a French window with a small balcony where we could see some view of the sea; the street was quiet at night and we did not hear any noise. Bed was very comfortable and we had very good night sleep every night. AC also worked well. Excellent housekeeping. The hotel is in quiet part of Ortigia but easy access to everywhere and you feel safe walking back to the hotel in the evening after dinner. Free soft drinks and water in mini bar in the room and complimentary wine, tea and coffee in the lovely lounge downstairs are very thoughtful and welcomed especially having returned to the hotel exploring the island and beyond. Breakfast was also very good with lots of choices including cakes and delicious home made jams. All staff were all very welcoming friendly and helpful, whether they are working at reception, breakfast service, housekeeping etc. Hotel does not have garden or roof terrace open to everyone however you can relax in a lovely lounge where you can enjoy tea, coffee or wine throughout the day. We've really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who is interested in visiting Syracuse.

We had an amazing stay! The hotel is centrally located and feels much like a boutique hotel. The room was beautiful including the bathroom (I am extremely particular when it comes to rooms and bathrooms especially). We came back from dinner the first night and we couldn't get our lights to work. The front desk staff came up immediately and worked to fix it. We said we were going to go grab a cocktail and come back to see if it was fixed. Was told if they couldn't fix it they would move us...luckily they fixed it! Second night we had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was delicious! Service was great even though shortly after we sat down the bartender who was our server had 5 additional tables sit down. Later that evening we wanted to have a bottle of wine in the room. We called down to the front desk and within minutes he arrived with 3 bottles of white for us to choose from. Such attentive service!! When we visit Siracusa we will of course stay here!!

Posh yet friendly
We had one of the special rooms: hot rub, two patios! What a treat. It was very private and lovely. Breakfast was sumptuous with many Sicilian options and one could order eggs any way from the chef. The Staff were so happy and friendly from the receptionists to the breakfast waiters/waitresses and cleaners. All advice on restaurants was correct, meaning that they listened to what we wanted (real Sicilian food and great wines) and made us happy! :). Kudos to the managers of this gorgeous place. We are also pleased because we paid in advance and, therefore, were able to snag a very reasonable deal on an exquisite hotel. I’d also like to say that it is heartening to see that people are taking the effort, money time to renovate these beautiful old buildings in Ortigia. We tourists help by booking and being encouraging.
