London once more.
A two night stay in London finishing an eleven day holiday in GB. We have stayed here before and love the location so close to the British Museum, and on a quiet street, but we had a really small room despite booking what I thought was a "superior room". The location of the hotel is great, and is only a three minute walk to the Russell Square Underground Station.

Had a slight problem getting help in making both a local and an international phone call from the front desk. Other than that, hotel was great.

Lovely hotel.
Such nice people!! The location is clean, safe, feels like a neighborhood but is within the city and is within a relatively short walking distance of so much. It's also close to the tube. I would definitely stay again. (We didn't partake of the restaurant or small bar because we were out and about constantly.)

Last-minute switcheroo
Hotel “upgraded” our room, but I chose the room because of the two queens. Instead, got a king and a sofa bed. Second bed was for our toddler, so I wasn't happy about the sofa bed. The room was large, a junior suite. There was a separate sitting room, great for luggage. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, but my toddler slept OK on it. The king was very hard and uncomfortable. The mattress was worn, and when I moved the sheets around to add a blanket underneath for extra padding, I could see the springs through holes on the edges of the mattress. I didn't get one good night of sleep, unfortunately, but I’m pregnant and maybe more sensitive; husband slept ok. Nice to be able to control the temperature, especially a/c. The bath was large, although it has a half shower door that gets water all over the floor. Tub is very narrow. It was very quiet, on a quiet street, and we enjoyed room service breakfast and dinner once. They were both good if not overpriced. The staff keeps a low profile but polite enough when we had to deal with them. It’s a convenient walk to both Holburn and Russell Square stations, with numerous bus stops nearby. There aren't restaurants or cafes directly adjacent to the hotel, but they aren't far. I appreciated the lift, which isn't available in many smaller hotels. Overall nice hotel, but not memorable. I might look for one with more comfortable beds, and I would definitely call ahead to confirm the room I was getting was what I reserved.
