Easy and super quick stay!
Loved it!

Fair 4.0
Could have been great, but alas it wasn't
All told a mixed experience. Unit itself was great, had all amenities desired. 2 bedrooms, kitchen, washing machine. The unit was nice, but it was on the ground floor so it was noisy from traffic on two sides. Also, it was abutted to the entrance door so we got to hear drunken groups from 10 pm to 2am, which was a hassle when you have two children under 10. A lock on the back door was unable to lock and was easily accessible from the sidewalk. This security lapse was completely unacceptable but didnt seem to merit a level of concern on the staff's part. I have two young children so I had to rig a noise system and sleep in the room alone and have kids sleep with mum. it was fixed the next day thankfully. Location is great, right next to Sea experience and a lovely canal zone All told, it had great promise but not the room I was given for the night in question. Wifi was questionable since I was too far from the router to get any traction. Washing machine was good, and heat was ample. Could have been great without the noise and staff inability to rectify situation due to Easter holiday.

Exceptional 10.0
spacious rooms right across from arena
Just stayed overnight for a concert. Clean, -large- bedrooms, bathrooms, living room and kitchen, had a small washer/dryer there with soap provided. Bed could have been more upscale but was clean and large. Furnishings were clean, comfortable and up to date. All modern appliances that worked well. Hotel was just 1 block from arena entrance, very good location for that. Area was just a little dodgy, They had well lit secure parking for 10 GBP extra that we did use.

Good 6.0
Very basic apartment
We stayed for a couple of nights at City Nite apartments. In a nice area of Birmingham, near the Arena. The apartments were equipped okay with kitchen, dining room and sofa area (with very small sofa), but a little run down and needing some TLC. There was a secure car park. Check in was very slow as only one person and a large queue. Reception also closed after 9pm. It was clean but we wouldn't stay again as very basic and wifi wouldn't work.

Poor 2.0
Tired, basic and uncomfortable. Avoid!
I chose to stay at a City Nites apartment in Birmingham as seemingly, the photos and reviews led me to believe it would be a good choice. I expected a modern, clean apartment in a good condition, as displayed in the photos. However, what I was met with was very different. The apartment was extremely tired. The faux leather dining table chairs were covered in scratches and missing large pieces of the faux leather. There were dozens of marks all over the walls and floor. The laminate flooring had bulges under it that could be felt and heard as I walked around. The bathroom grout was dirty, had black (mould) bits and some holes, clearly needed replacing. The bedside lamps were like something out of the 80s, along with the decor in general, certainly nothing like the modern decor in the photos, and the bedrooms were bare and basic. Worse were the incredibly uncomfortable beds. I saw every hour of the night of my stay thanks to waking up in discomfort. Worse still during my stay was the broken shower which had one setting for the water; scolding hot. Despite efforts, I was unable to adjust the temperature of the water and was unable to shower. Instead, I had to use the bath which was missing the tap lever so I had to grip the tap with both hands to use it. Upon leaving I went to the reception to complain about my stay, only to find a closed notice on the window. This was 11am (the checkout time) so not early. Without doubt, this has been my worst hotel stay in years.
