We stayed one night. The hotel is wonderfully eclectic in internal layout. It is right in the center of town, and only a couple of blocks from the Gallops, but we found it quiet and comfortable. The front desk recommended a nearby restaurant, which had excellent food. There is parking available behind the hotel, but call first for directions!

Fantastic Hotel and Location
Very pleasant stay - was greeted with warm welcome and introduction to the hotel. The facilities were great (WiFi/Breakfast) so can't really complain. The hotel is nicely located within central Newmark, so ideal for anyone wanting a long week/weekend in Newmarket. Would defo come and stay again; so recommended.

Convenient hotel but very poor accomodation.
I'm sure that this hotel must have some nice rooms - somewhere. Our room was about THE most un-accessible room anywhere, bar none. The place is like a rabbit warren. To get from reception to our room was up stairs, along a landing, through fire doors, down a set of stairs, more fire doors, up a set of stairs through yet more fire doors and along a long corridor that crossed the road and then, yes, more fire doors and another corridor. The room had been described as a "Small Double" but there were no others on offer through Hotels.com. However, when we got to the room it was not just small it was pitifully small - so small that one side of the double bed was pushed against the wall. The old sash windows were painted in so it was impossible to get any ventilation whatsoever. Yet this room was not in an old converted building, it was in a modern annex across the road ! Furniture was tatty, decoration was tired and the TV was tiny. Simply Awful. Only the bathroom was acceptable but there was no shower, just a non-thermostatic mixer tap and a shower curtain that had seen better days. A lot of better days. On the positive side, the breakfast room and bar were fine and the staff were friendly and the location was very central. However I would not stay there again unless I knew in advance exactly where I would be staying in the hotel and the size of the room.

Hope you don't get the room we did
Promotional pictures on Internet very misleading - there is an old/more luxurious part of the the hotel and then the part that we had the misfortune to stay in. Room looked incredibly tired, bathroom hadn't been renovated in years, bed not particularly comfortable, very plain. Breakfast service very disappointing - staff rather incompetent (forgetting orders, not replenishing buffet items which had run out etc etc). Front of house staff very friendly however. Overall, great shame as potential to be much nicer.

Shabby Hotel
Very shabby inside as if the place was rented out to DSS! Staff at breakfast had a attitude of couldn't care less, no one seated you at table , and you had to keep on asking for your coffee etc as was ordered and was forgotten to be brought. The breakfast was poor . This was not a one night stay! Rooms are very basic and shabby. The whole experience within the stay was shocking and will definitely not be staying there again.
