Good food
Due to the hotels proximity in relation to the main road, rooms at the front of the building experience noise from passing vehicles

Only use if you can't get in anywhere else
Reminds me of Cross Roads Motel!!!!!! Had to find someone to check us in, after waiting 20 minutes and nobody being on reception. However they did check us in early. Room was basic to say the least. bathroom wasn't the cleanest I have ever seen, also the bathroom was absolutely freezing. Room was very cold as radiators needed bleeding, these were also turned off during the night which resulted in an uncomfortable night due to the cold. Unfortunately we were not informed that there were parties held there every Friday and Saturday which having been up since 3.30am on the Friday I didn't appreciate listening to music until 0100. All but two members of staff were simply incompetant, with around 90% of them appearing to be students. The simplest of tasks - passing on a message from my relatives could not even be achieved. Food breakfast was pityful hardly doing a "Scottish breakfast" any justice. The evening meal - dried out re-heated chicken was like leather and the salad was basically lettuce stalks. Unfortunately as it's the only hotel for some miles you have very limited options. Only to be used if you need to be close to Kilsyth otherwise AVOID.

Nicy but very very noisy
the room was fine, the service ok, the breakfast was fine (although I found very strange the suggestion that Earl Grey tea was not a part of the inclusive breakfast, but standard tea was) BUT...... the noise from the disco running until 1am kept us awake. then, the 'partying' outside the rooms a couple of hours after that. Serious lack of sleep made me very grumpy the next day.
