Green Scum and Mold & Broken Door Lock
We have stayed in The Waterfront a few times before and it had been very good. We got this room for our daughter and grandkids to stay for 4 nights (July 19-23, 2018) for their special vacation. After we brought all items to the room and went to leave, I checked the door. The door handle just opened without a card. The latching bolt would latch, but the handle would not lock. I fooled with it a bit and got it to lock. I expressed my concerns about the lock to the front desk person. Our daughter mentioned that someone left a can of WD-40 in the room. We thought they had fixed the lock and our daughter did not mention anything. After they left for their drive back home, we went to the room to double check for personal items and were shocked to find that not only was the lock still not working correctly, but the bath tub had green scum mold all around the drain extending out 12+ inches. This did not happen over night. This was a build up of scum and mold from weeks. I have a photo of the tub in room 224 but it doesn't seem to upload for some reason. We also left our email address for the manager to respond. We have not heard back.

Awesome Hidden Gem
Awesome place to stay. Great breakfast. Hot tub and pool area clean. Hotel right in the middle or everything. Rented a golf cart to get around town. Kids enjoyed every minute of it. Will definitely stay again and also recommend.

Wonderful Lake front hotel
This is the most quaint little Inn on a lake in the Villages. Very nice, clean, great service in the restaurant, great views and great accessibility to the Villages. Great staff with great area recommendations. We absolutely loved it.

Waterfront Inn is in need of
The Villages is just a fun place to visit for a night or two, and the Waterfront Inn is perfectly situated to walk to Sumter Landing and it's music, food, shopping, etc. With that said, the check-in personnel have become consistent unfriendly, as though they are doing you a favor just by acknowledging your presence, and this last one (6/5/18) finished her personal phone call, and then was clearly annoyed when I simply asked her to check that this was indeed a king room.. "I don't know....I closed out the screen" she barked. Oh no, I may have to reopen it and waste 11 seconds of your valuable return phone call time..... If I was her boss (and I am a boss) she would be history. This wasn't the first such experience I've had there, just the worst. The last 3 have been similar including one who gave us room keys that didn't work because she never ACTUALLY CHECKED US IN?? When I went back down 5 minutes later, she was "gone for the day". Actually, she was "gone" before she left, apparently. Awful!! Where is management? As for the facility, rusted pool-side balcony railings, badly cracked tile work in the hot tub, trim/siding pieces missing (all of this visible from the pool area) and just general maintenance neglect everywhere. Rooms are fine, comfortable, and place is always quiet. We'll go back of course because again, the only real option. But it would be nice to see a big change in the attitude of the check-in staff and the outside appearance of the facility.
