There was no hot water for the whole stay. A maintenance engineer attempted to fix the problem every day but failed. On the last morning we had to convince the front desk to allow us to use a shower in another room to get hot water. The room they gave us for a shower stunk of cigarette smoke even though we were on a no smoking floor. The hotel tuktuk was not available for the first day and then when I tried to book it one evening I was told that the service finished at 5pm which is far too early. There were two other rooms occupied by guests who allowed their children to run around the floor ringing doorbells and screaming throughout the night and the hotel staff did nothing to stop it. At check-out I told the front desk staff that I did not expect this for a 4 star hotel then they informed me that it was in fact only 3 stars. If I had known this I would not have booked this hotel in the first place. Expedia 4 star rating for this hotel is wrong and misleading. Please remove one or two stars from this hotel rating and consider the cost of the rooms based on this.

Economic Spot for Bumrungrad Visit
Very convenient to bumrungrad hospital, which is why we chose it. It’s a renovated older building. Much of the room tastefully renovated, but our room had poor water pressure and electric fuse problems. Had to call the desk twice to fix room issues. Staff were helpful and quick to respond, which was nice.

Central located
I actually was trying to stay at their other hotel located off of the Sukhumvit train station, and in error booked this hotel. Never the less, this hotel has excellent rooms and service. It is about 2 blocks / 600feet (200 meters) from the main road which has many restaurants and shops, as well as the subway station. Regarding Bangkok, it is a mad city, seemingly in complete "organized" caos. Somehow I was expecting a more organized city considering how wonderful Thai restaurants are in New York City. The people are very nice. One thing that you might find surprising is that Bangkok seems to atract a large number of "loser" westerners, who probably could not make it in their own country. It is not surprising to see over weight, 60 year old loser men with young, 20-25 year old women. No doubt it is a financial thing. People tell me that Bangkok is not the place to really stay in but rather head south to Phuket or north to some of the jungle cities. Still, Bangkok does have much to see including various Budist temples, the Palace and I would recommend a boat ride along the river and perhaps visit the floating market.

Wonderful staff, nice hotel but needs update
The hotel is located directly behind Bumrungrad Hospital so it's extremely convenient. The staff was always extremely professional, helpful and everyone that we met spoke good English. The rooms are old, tired and in desperate need of an update. Our bed was so incredibly hard it was like sleeping on a rock; we called the front desk requesting a different room but they said they are all the same. The front desk brought us another comforter that we folded in half and ended up turning that into a "pillow-top" cushion for the bed. The walls are all scratched, nicked and just tired. The furnishings are also quite tired and worn. The rooms featured a nice kitchenette, microwave oven, fridge etc. We went into the hotel at 1 pm a week before our actual stay and requested to see a room. We were told none were ready to see, we would have to come back later. That was surprising because their check out is 12 noon so many rooms should be available??? There were ants in our room that we got bit by...we called the front desk and they immediately sent up someone with bug spray to try to get rid of them. This hotel could be a 5-start hotel if they completely renovate every room in the facility. My fiance' found out that they are in the process of renovating the rooms. I just had a very serious surgery that required extensive rest and relaxation. We felt that the hotel should have immediately offered us one of their renovated rooms yet they put us in one of their older rooms.

Ok hotel
It's a fairly nice hotel but dated. Needs a bot of work done to the decor. It's most of the way up Soi 1 so it's a 5 minute walk to the main road and then further to Ploen Chit BTS which is the nearest station. Probably about 10 minute walk and I'm a fast walker. If you are walking with suitcases the footpath is narrow and you'll be on the road a bit and you will need to cross over the entry to the toll road if heading to the BTS. While the room was clean to look at there were these little bugs I noticed walking around on the floor. Not sure what they were. Either way the furniture needs updating and the curtains let the light in as they've seen better days. I only stayed 1 night so didn't have much to do with the staff but they were pleasant when I did at check in and out. My concerns with the hotel certainly wasn't anything to do with the staff. They held my bags for me for a few hours after which was good. I wouldn't necessarily stay again though the price was reasonable. There are other places I'd try beforehand. I actually booked this hotel by mistake instead of their sister hotel the FuramaXclusive at Asoke. This is the Sukhumvit one in Soi 1 - make sure you check that!
