Well Located Hotel
When you first see the hotel, it's hard to know what to make of it. It's a building that on the outside could probably do with some aesthetic updating, as it's a bit brutalist. It's probably not helped with other rundown looking parts. Though, saying that, the inside is like stepping into a completely different world. It's well presented, modern and welcoming. While the outside might trick you into thinking it might be all rundown, it really isn't. We were checked in quickly by pleasant staff and went up to our room, which was cosy, with that home from home feeling. Yeah, there are things about the room that felt outdated, but it wasn't jarring or terrible in any way. The bathroom did need some areas to be touched up to hide to wear and tear, but it was completely serviceable, clean and spacious. It was nice to have a heated towel rack as well. One thing, we couldn't seem to get any cold water to run in the bath or shower - not sure if the temperature control was having problems. We did address this on checking out, and it was immediately sent through to be looked at. Top marks on efficiency here. I'm pleased with how quiet the hotel was and the surrounding area. On top of this, we slept well in a very comfy bed. We did try the food in their restaurant just after we arrived and the food and service was of excellent standard. It's a friendly place I'd highly recommend to anyone. It's also well located in the town centre and close to Grimsby Town station for your travel needs.
