    Disappointing

Full disclosure-we had immediate problem. No one let us know all elevators under repair for our entire visit. Sister has bad knee, can’t do stairs. Couldn’t even figure out how to get up to reception til hotel repairmen told us where a service entrance on the street was. Relegated to service elevator (reeking of cigarette smoke) entire visit. Had to reach it through long corridor shrouded in ceiling to floor black curtains. Felt funereal. Awful. Tried to move to another hotel but mgr wouldn’t void our 2nd night (tried not to be rude to him!). I was willing to sacrifice first night’s cost (inexplicably they later comped 2nd night even though I asked them not to; if I stay, I can pay). Trying to do honest review now: loved bathroom, modern, spacious, spotless but dangerously without shower grab bars - pretty standard everywhere). Room so-so, huge heavy dark wood furniture, and lots of it, took up most space. Not my taste. Loved wireless phone charge. Otherwise not memorable, nothing special. Breakfast pretty good, liked 24 hour coffee but not always hot. Didn’t taste wine but cheese and assorted food pretty mundane. Skipped it 2nd night. Didn’t try cookies/milk. Hotel lobby seems small, confining like rooms. Beautiful Christmas tree and decorations but otherwise again not memorable. Location a plus. Valet parking a plus. Overall stretching to get to 3 stars. Next trip to Charleston, I’ll pass on French Qtr Inn and go directly to one of the better hotels.

    Southern charm!

Amazing hotel in a friendly, lovely city. They definitely define ‘southern charm’ from the taxi driver, hotel staff, restaurants and even the airlines checkin! Awesome place to visit! AND! The food is spectacular! We will go back!

Amazing hotel! Top notch service. All staff were wonderful! Champagne at check in was an unexpected delight! The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Wine and cheese hour was decadent! The location could not be better as we walked to the pineapple fountain, carriage ride tour, and rainbow row. There were TONS of bars and restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend this property!!

The Inn was so clean beyond Covid guidelines and the staff was so helpful. Breakfast was delivered to our room at the time we requested so we could get an early start exploring Charleston. The sheets, towels, pillows, and bathrobes were luxurious...so close to the best shopping in Charleston and lots of good restaurants. It was a great place to stay for a special anniversary.

One of the best hotels as far as service that I've experienced and I stay 60 nights a year in various hotels around the world.
