Birthday Weekend
Room was comfortable but bathroom was tight, had a weird layout. Continental breakfast was good however the service was not good, lady berated my wife when she accidentally grabbed the wrong plate, I literally had to let my self control control my anger at that point. Other than that rude episode my stay was comfortable and quiet and would definitely stay again just would skip the free breakfast.

Great hotel in a historic building in the heart of Charleston's historic district. Walk anywhere downtown, including shopping, restaurants, and historic sites. Friendly service from check-in, valet, and breakfast.

No Sleep in Charleston
Perhaps my room (114) was the worst spot in the hotel, as it was both on the street level and the closest to the driveway for parking, but my initial impression was disappointment and sadly it got worse from there. When booking there was a notice that the hotel would be under construction. As I was in town for business that didn't really concern me being I would be up and on the move every morning. However construction began at 6am, and the noise was horrible, constant beeping and people shouting. Also there are no curtains on the windows, just wooden blinds that allow for a fair amount of light pollution to come in from the street, so that added to my sleepless misery. The breakfast was in the adjacent building and had a nice selection of items with a beautiful view, it was the best part of the an otherwise frustrating stay. I will not be returning.
