Very nice!!
The experience was great. However, the limited seating at the pool and the beach requiring a reservation early in the morning was annoying. There should be sufficient seating to accommodate every guest, not just first come first served.

Overall nice resort!
The hotel was very friendly and nice. The rooms were pretty as well. The resort was a bit small and had lots of children but for the few days we spent there it was very nice. If you are looking for adults only I would avoid this property.

Great place, great people
Excellent service and facility conditions. Superb amenities and our butler, Wilson exceeded our expectations. I had left my license and credit cards in the room's safe and Wilson not only retrieved them but brought them to the airport!!

Needs work on staff training and welcome process!
We paid to stay at the Palms but we were contacted a week before our stay informing us that an elevator was not functioning. We were given the option of canceling with no penalties or moving to the sister property, The Shore Club. We chose to accept the sister property given the short notice for finding an alternative accommodation. We were not instructed to arrive at the sister property and arrived at the Palms lobby/reception which was completely chaotic. No one approached us and we were made to wait amongst many people waiting to catch shuttles to the affiliated properties. Although several staff were loitering about, no one seemed to take charge or make a point to welcome us. We had to seek someone out who was less than enthusiastic about helping us. Once they determined we were at the wrong property, they attempted to load us on their old shuttle van with 10 other people, literally. I was squeezed in the back while my husband sat in the side pull/down jump seat. Not exactly a five star welcome! Needless to say, our luggage did not fit on the van with us! When we arrived at the sister property, it was only slightly less chaotic and when I sat down at the desk to check in, the previous person's welcome drinks and dirty napkins were still on the desk. Again, not very 5-star! We were told our room wasn't ready and feel free to enjoy the property with no tour or explanation of where anything was. Our room was very beautiful but the initial impression stung!

Romantic getaway
The pool was under renovation the second day we were there. It was disappointing, as they knew they were doing the renovation, yet failed to notify Hotels.com about it more than a couple of days in advance. We booked the hotel a month out, and it's certain they knew by then they were doing it. The beach is beautiful, practically secluded, as it was not busy. The breakfast was good enough. It was a nice perk that they let you take a togo container for snacking later. We took advantage of that every day. They were very generous with the bottled waters and it's nice to keep them out for your visit to the beach. Every night we had turn down service with fresh waters brought to the rooms. We loved the Nespresso that was refilled every day. I do think this is more a 4 star hotel, which isn't a bad thing but for the rate they charge, you do expect a little bit more. The gym was a bit dated but worked ok. Expect to pay $15 per drink at any resort or restaurant. Everything is imported. There is no uber or ride share, so a trip to/from the airport is $14 per person. A mile ride to dinner is $6 per person, which adds up when you need roundtrip. This is the standard for anywhere on the island.

Week stay as a couple!
The hotel itself is the only in the area that is not all inclusive but has the same price as all inclusive. The air conditioner wouldn’t get below 70 all night and I had it on 64. The safe didn’t work in the room, they didn’t allow all inclusive upgrades, and decided to leave the property for dinner as the food prices are outrageous. I definitely would prefer beach house or something all inclusive. Food is very expensive on property. The property is outdated and they don’t fix the safe that was broken before we even got our room. Turn down service was great! The pool bar is about the nicest thing of the hotel. Wish they were more accommodating as there are hotels in the area for the same price but all inclusive.
