Above and beyond
Everything fantastic! The staff is just wonderful, from the moment I arrived jet lagged after two weeks intercontinental, greeted with a warm smile, to when I left - awaiting a late train which turned out to early morning (they let me wait in the lobby), they were just above and beyond. The room felt like home, and the adjacent in-house restaurant (different business) is also a gem. The location is perfect, walkable from the downtown as well as Georgetown, and the Potomac river. Highly recommended! I will definitely stay here again when I come back to DC.

Fantastic for Families
We've been to the DC area many times over the years as a family of 6, and the River Inn was by far the best experience we've had. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff members were all super friendly and welcoming. This will definitely be our go-to spot in the future!

It had been 25+ years since staying at the River Inn, and am so glad we stayed here now as tourists! River Inn is a hidden gem in a very walkable and also metro accessible neighborhood. The staff is so friendly and we felt welcome. A shout-out to Jack and Roland, and it was a treat to see Mr B after all these years. Definitely staying here again and again.
