The hotel spoiled an amazing day.
This hotel smelled. It was uncomfortable. The pictures were obviously cherrypicked.

Very relaxing - we have enjoyed the hotel
The hotel seems a little old. But we have a very comfortable, large size room and have really enjoyed our stay there. We stayed there for 2 nights and had two breakfasts and dinners there. I loved the breakfast buffets. We also had dinners at the Lake side grill both evenings. Buffet would be awesome to someone who loves meat and crab legs. The only complaint I would have is that we ate there at the same place 4 times, the male serving staff (same people, morning and evening) looked unfriendly, not recognizing us (no smile, no greetings). The female workers were good. This is also one of the few places in Japan which adds service charge to the meal expense. One would expect better service.

The hotel is fine, but I did not get lake view room. When we arrived in hotel it was noon, they let us checked-in. So, once dropped-off luggage in room, we had time to catch ropeway ride and sightseeing cruise on lake and returned with the last ship (4pm) back to our dock. Unlike others hotels, this one charges the bottle water in refrigerator.

Picturesque Fuji
The hotel and grounds were lovely. The hotel restaurants are a bit overpriced for what you get, but there is nothing within walking distance, so you are stuck. The area is beautiful and the Fuji off the lake is picturesque. If it is a clear day, I definitely wouldn't miss the rope way.
