We had a reasomably OK time at the QT. We stayed at the four seasons and the novotel om manly beach during the trip, so I have a good idea about what to expect at each price range. One of the reasons I picked the QT was that it had a gym and claimed to have laundry facilities. Pros Chic common areas Adult and kid pools Ping pong table and bar open till midnight On site restaurant is fancy but lacked vegetarian choices on the menu. While our primary server seemed clueless at what to do, his supervisor sent out of his way to accommodate us with custom dishes. Outdoor movie theater showing current movies! Common areas look pretty good Cons Unfortunately, the gym has restrictive timings (closes at 6pm?), which means I could never use it in the evenings after a day spent sight seeing. The laundry machines are not in the same buildings as the rooms (the facility has no elevators, so its quite a walk). The laundry costs $3 for a single use of the washer or dryer. Easily the most expensive laundry I've done. The on site restaurant was very expensive and it was very unusual in Australia to find a place that didn't have anything on the menu for vegetarians in this day and age. Bathrooms were clean but a little tight (the shower area was large though). Extremely limited alcohol selection at the bar. We will probably stay within the Port Douglas downtown if we visit here again.

Excellent
This os a first class resort, with wonderful restaurant, staff and amazing pool. The only down side is that you have to carry your luggage to the rooms. But other than that it's a wonderful resort!

Not A Four Star Hotel
QT Port Douglas is listed as a four star hotel, but in reality should be a three star hotel. For the record, the front desk staff, Ricky and Shawny were super welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Ricky personally recommended Poseidon for our Great Barrier Reef dive and they were fantastic. The restaurant staff were nice too. I wish their hospitality made up for the rest of my experience. The service everywhere else was lacking. Housekeeping only made my bed and did not replenish water, and left the bathroom completely as is. I came back from my dive with ants all over the bathroom sink and I had to call twice for water, and a bathroom clean up. On the day I was checking out, the housekeeper came and woke me up at 8am. She came back around 9am to ask what time I was checking out. I told her noon. This was the first time I have been disturbed on the morning of check out. Wifi is very weak in the rooms. I had to work and make calls and the only place I could do that was in the loud lobby/bar area. Not acceptable for a hotel of this level. The kitchen and food needs the most work. A lot of the food is frozen and thawed, stale and/or completely overpriced for what it is. Breakfast buffet is $19 AUD for continental (aka coffee and stale, soggy pastries) and $28 AUD for the works, eggs, bacon/sausage, beans, pastries, fruit, tea/coffee, juices, yogurt, etc. Dinner buffet is $65 AUD per person. Is this the Four Seasons? My full review is available on TripAdvisor.
