Great hotel, poor staff attitude
Great hotel - perfect position and a beautiful building with character. But the staff need a kick up the **m. Reception do nothing to make you feel welcome. Breakfast staff are slow and nonchalant. They completely lack any customer service skills. When I pointed out that the tea was cold, and tasted awful, they did not apologise or offer to get fresh. You have to constantly attract their attention as they are too busy chatting to each other, and do not replenish plates or food until customers point it out to them - very poor service. Ruined a good weekend.

Disappointed
Bedroom -plugs had to be put into an extension lead. Stayed 2 nights. 1st morning breakfast self service. 2nd morning breakfast freshly cooked. Location great but disappointed with hotel's facilities for price

Enjoyable stay,Well looked after
The is a beautiful historical hotel set by the river in Henley. Lovely four poster bedrooms, beautiful old furniture and adequate on suite bathrooms. Just the right place to stay after celebrating at a wedding. Staff really looked after their guests too.

Historic hotel in Henley
The hotel is a historic building next to the river in central Henley. Because of its age, it is somewhat lacking in modern comforts, like consistent hot water and windows that open. But the views down the river are gorgeous, the position is excellent and the service and bar were all good. It's an experience.

Old fashioned comfort.
Old fashioned hotel - mostly in a good way - the bathrooms are old fashioned in a bad way. Comfortable, refined and very Henley. One point, many staff did not speak good English. I do not expect this from a hotel where service ought to be a defining feature.
