Disappointed!
We were suppose to stay 5 nights. We left after two. Given all the options in the area, we moved to a true hotel with many amenities for the money. Half of the rooms at the Bluenose are in the hotel building, half are very basic motel rooms. The grounds are nothing to speak of, the grounds are basically the parking lot. Outdoor pool is small and only open til dusk. We were much happier at the Holiday Inn Bar Harbor Regency down the street. Same price, far better room and amenities.

A nice option in Bar Harbor
The property is an older one but well kept, clean and comfortable. They try to route you to the hotel restaurant for breakfast, but if you're ok with something quick just to start your day, the complimentary breakfast is fine. Despite being described as a continental breakfast when we checked in,there were boiled eggs, bacon and sausage as well as lots of other options as well. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony that runs the length out the building. No privacy but a great view! Lots of great restaurants are within a 15-20 minute walk. The hotel is a bit outside of the village center, making it quiet and relaxing. We booked late and got a great deal ($202 plus tax). Not sure I'd stay at full price.

Great room with a view!
Wish we had booked a week here! Too short a visit. Hope to return.

3 star hotel, 4 star location, 5 star price
30's married couple, visiting Bar Harbor for the first time. Hotel had a nice view and was just 1 mile from downtown. But the service was not what one would expect for the price. The outside pool area was small and rudimentary, the inside pool was large but no frills, the spa was non-responsive to phone calls, the housekeeping was mediocre and the breakfast was Days Inn quality. A full water view room costs $450 in peak season (which will get you a water view right downtown at a real 5 star). Overpriced!!
