low comfort, but clean and great location
hotel was expensive, considering it's condition. Room was clean, but decor was very cheap, the floor boards were noisy, carpet was patched, curtains were hanging lopsided, towel holder and toilet paper holder were loose and bathroom was small and very basic. We did have internet connection in the room. Neighborhood was kind of funky, but safe and only 5 min walk to the Busstation and Conolly Rail Station Great location for walking to all major attractions. Stores and eateries in close proximity.

Convenience
Location close to city center by foot. Hotel's old. No elevators. Bed comfortable. Non smoking room, but can smell cigarettes in my room all night. That was terrible. Heating, tv, wifi all great. Very helpful when asked questions. Restaraunts close. 3.5 rating in total. Old hotel.

Review
The room was very small and the bathroom was oddly shaped. The shower was a pump that needed to be turned on from outside the bathroom, there was no way to turn the shower off from inside the shower (or bathroom for that matter) and the water pressure was awful. There was an electric kettle to make coffee/tea, but no electrical outlets near the set up to plug it in, we had to plug in on the bedside table. It was very hard to get the room door to open with the key.

The worst hotel Ive been in in Europe
My daughter and I were surprised by the run down condition of this hotel. The whole place smells stale at best and foul at worst. The room was tiny and all the features of it were make shift. The route to get to the room was a maze of dirty halls. I booked this hotel for the night before our departure because of its convenient location by the bus station but can't believe that I paid more for it than I did for the Gresham where we had stayed for 2 days earlier on our trip while in Dublin. (A really lovely hotel.) As the final part of our disappointment with the Maple was that when we asked when breakfast was they asked what room we were in and then told us breakfast was from 8-10. After we ate a light breakfast (we are both vegetarians) and were checking out, we were told that we owed 15 E each for breakfast. I said they might have told us breakfast wasn't included (at $190 plus/per night) when they checked our room number before breakfast. To the manager's credit, he did not charge us for the breakfast. I can only say in summary that I would never stay at the Maple again or recommend it to anyone.

Survivable for one night only
Stayed for one night prior to my flight home from Dublin after two full weeks traveling fully around Ireland and N. Ireland. Location and price were excellent, bed was clean, but otherwise not really thrilled with this hotel. There is no elevator so when you are on the "3rd" floor (really the 4th in Europe/Ireland) you have to carry your luggage up and down many flights of stairs. The carpet in the hotel and the room was disgusting...I would not walk barefoot around the hotel room. Bathroom was very small and had a slight ick factor. The hotel reeked of smoke. At least the sheets were clean and the bed was not too uncomfortable. While I am no stranger to city noise (I am from Washington DC) , and have reasonable expectations for city location/noise, the noise from the street was pretty unbearable at this particular hotel.I had to wear earplugs just to get any sleep at all. **ASK FOR A ROOM FACING THE BACK OF THE HOTEL At breakfast I asked the server/waitress if it was included in the booking and she told me yes, only to find out at check out that it WAS NOT included and they were going to charge me extra. Perhaps there was a language barrier (the waitress may have been Russian?-english was obviously not her first language) but I was still upset that an employee gave me mis-information. Ultimately, this hotel was survivable for the price and location for one night only, but I would probably not stay here again.
