Stayed for one night and it was a perfect location literally across the street from the Copacabana beach. Great breakfast buffet better than a 5 star hotel! Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone.

Loved the location, but many aspects could be better: Toiled had folded toilet paper stuck between the water tank and the wall. There was trash (like from a razor pack) inside the shower. The pillows had drools circles and smelled bad, and the one on the closets had hairs on them. The towels looked old, had holes. There was a leak from the shower that would pretty much get most of the bathroom floor wet. Personnel was inattentive and seemed mad all the time (short answers, talk over, rude to other guests) mainly at front desk and restaurant, only exceptions were bartenders and bellboys. Same breakfast options daily, and they were not good (even compared to other smaller hotels we stayed at in Brazil, like Wyndham and Estanplaza)

I had a horrible experience at Hotel Astoria Palace and i had no help from Expedia whatsoever. My room had no wifi. To reach someone i had to call outside the room. I had to buy towels to use because they are old and dirty. The TV was not working properly and when i called for help, the housekeeping came later on with attitude telling me that I should know how to set up by myself. The bed has no fitedsheet and everyday i woke up sleeping on the mattress. I complained and they gave 2 flat sheets to fix the problem by myself. I called Expedia which did NOT EVEN TRY to help me getting another hotel or negociate an upgrading. I could not change hotels by myself because was holiday in Rio and everywhere around was sold out and remember, i had NO INTERNET to search. I took pictures about everything and i intent to take this to another level.
