This was a lovely stay. I recommend the place. Tips for the staff/management: • do not explain what egg benedicts are - that came across a bit patronizing - instead provide clients in restaurant with the same menu you have printed outside the restaurant. It is more valuable to have that information when we are at our tables before we order. • consider style vs efficiency. The silver set used to serve coffee is gorgeous, but the coffee gets cold really quickly, defeating the purpose. Either serve individual cups, or consider a temperature efficient coffee pot. • check supplies in the room, we had a wooping 1 tissue in the tissue box. None of the above are a reason to avoid Van Cleef, quite the contrary, expect requests to be welcomed by the staff and quickly resolved. They are a very helpful, welcoming bunch :-)

Each room in this boutique hotel has been thoughtfully curated and is both beautiful and comfortable. It felt more like a home than a hotel. The staff is very welcoming and take great pains to make sure you are comfortable in every way. The breakfast is delicious and we enjoyed eating outside with the canal view two of our mornings there. We really enjoyed our stay here!
