AVOID! OLD ROOM & EXTRA CHARGES!
Charges additional Credit Card fee 3.5 - 4.5%. Lied before I was choosing payment method. I asked if there’s additional fee charged. Other hotels at the airport area didn’t charge any additional fees for international credit card. Note: this is not the fee charged by your credit card company. The hotel say the credit card company charged it, but this is misleading information as I had no problem at other hotels in Delhi with the same credit card. Stuff speak little English at the resturant. At hotel buffet, coke/pepsi has additional charges of $4 USD per small glass, with 1/3 being ice. The stuff keeps asking you to refil but never mentioned additional charges. The room of the hotel is old, different from photo. You should check the room before paying. Doesn’t worth the price. Taxi service and currency exchange service are all provided at much higher cost. This is not the only 5 star hotel in the area. I strongly recommend choosing a better and more comfortable hotel where they don’t try so hard taking advantage of foreigners. It’s Ok to take some advantage, but it makes you feel uncomfortable if you try to squize every penny out of your customer as a 5 star hotel, expecially when the service provided does not worth the money and additional fees you are asking. PS: I just realized I could add photos for reviewing. Should have taken photos of the room.

    Exceptional 10.0
We stayed three times on our holiday when we were visiting Delhi It’s very good value for money, it’s a very clean and well equipped modern hotel. Great shower and free bottled water each day Reception staff are friendly, helpful and quick. I contacted the hotel about a few matters prior to my stay and they were prompt in responding. They also kept a bag for me whist I traveled. The hotel arranged my transfer and although I was 2 hours late the person was waiting for me. The driver was fantastic, a very safe driver an a very friendly person. Rooms were comfy and clean with all the usual mod cons, ironing board, slippers, dressing gown, good toiletries, free wi-fi, ect. Good size beds and good mattress and pillows - we had a very good nights sleep The staff are Very attentive, you are called after arrival to make sure everything is ok with your room and each evening you will receive a call from housekeeping to check if there is anything you need. The breakfast was the best of all the hotels I stayed in on my tour, both in terms of quality and choice. There is a large selection of Indian and Western style foods and they cook fresh omelet/eggs to order. We ate in two of their restaurants, Zing and Rickshaw and had very good meals. We had lunch and dinner at Zing and it was very tasty, they do a buffet evening meal, we did not order this but I had a look and there was a wide choice. Our meals in Rickshaw was very tasty. Service in both was very good. They do fantastic

    Poor 2.0
    Overrated
The trip started poorly when I emailed the hotel a few days before arrival asking about a transfer to the hotel on arrived into Delhi. I emailed them direct and via Expedia. I am still waiting for a reply. I eventually phoned them and asked for a taxi to be arranged. On check in, the staff showed no interest and barely communicated with me. They took my passport and said very few words. The room was adequate and the house keeping was good. The Chutney restaurant and bar was also good and the staff were excellent (I’ve reviewed this separately). The main restaurant - Zing - was poor. Slow service and a poor selection for both the breakfast buffet and dinner. On one morning, another guest had to walk to reception to ask if anyone was serving in the restaurant despite there being at least 20 guests sitting at tables - no staff could be seen. The Spa/Gym - this was dreadful. It is clearly not getting used as the staff were generally sitting around doing nothing. They certainly were not doing any cleaning. The gents toilet near the gym went without toilet paper for the duration of my stay and there was food left near one of the toilets (again this remained for the 3 days of my stay). I’ve attached some photos. Overall the spa and gym did not feel clean. The reception area and restaurants had a nice physical appearance but there’s something seriously going wrong with the front of house team at Reception and the overall management. I have rarely come across such rude staff member

    Trapped in the lift
On the second afternoon of our stay we got trapped in the lift for 15-20 minutes. For the first 10 minutes nobody even acknowledged that we were there. The emergency phone didn't work, my attempts to phone the hotel on my mobile all got cut off and only by leaning on the alarm button did we eventually make it known that we were there. Subsequently we were released with a muttered apology and told to 'proceed to your rooms' like naughty children being sent to their rooms. I could not believe that we didn't get a call from the manager to apologise. Instead we had a call about 10 minutes later offering us a tea or coffee but still not apologising. Tea and coffee after getting stuck in a lift? Come on. I complained to the duty manager the next morning and he was very polite. About half an hour before we checked out, we got a call from the spa asking if we'd like a massage (but my husband took the call so I don't even know if that was an apology massage or just an 'upselling' attempt). The rooms are nice, the location is quiet, the housekeeping and bell-staff are excellent but for me it's absolutely unacceptable for a hotel to trap you in their lift and then to not apologise and attempt to make some kind of compensation (beyond a cup of tea and coffee). Breakfast is disappointing and not 5-star quality at all. We stayed here in 2005 when it was part of the Nikko change. Sadly I don't think the change of ownership has maintained the same standards.
