Lovely hotel with superb eclectic styling throughout. Powerful, hot shower, big TV and very comfy beds. Staff was very helpful and added two cots for us with extra bedding and towels for the little ones. High chairs, extra plates and cutlery provided for dinner and breakfast.

Absolutely wonderful stay at the Potters Heron. I stayed for 2 nights. Check in was quick and friendly, kindly upgraded to a larger room. The rooms are clearly recently renovated and they look outstanding. Excellent decor, really homely feeling. The shower is probably the best shower I’ve ever had in a hotel! A few little treats in the room for me on arrival too. Breakfast was really good, I can highly recommend the French toast! The bar/restaurant is immaculate and all the staff were a delight. I will certainly be visiting again.

I know it's just been done up but there's not much not tp like at the Potters Heron. The staff are always super pleasant bordering on actually enjoying their jobs (I wish I was the same), food excellent although the menu could change monthly. Rooms, very clean but being a man who hates cushions, ditch them please :). It's a great place to eat and stay. Happy hour as well 5-7 weekdays. Not had breakfast yet but if its like the eveing meals then I can imagine its great.

Recently renovated, every aspect of the property and design choices are exceptional. The dinner menu creations were inventive and delicious. However, our room No. 36 was without WiFi. (“Hotel WiFi not connected to internet.”) And you cannot adjust the room temperature using the thermostat. A+ regardless.

10/10 Exceptional

We stayed at The Potters Heron recently and had a fantastic experience overall. The staff were excellent, really friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel itself is in a lovely location and has a really nice feel to it. It seems quite newly finished or recently updated, as the décor inside was very well done and gave the place a premium, comfortable feel. The food was really nice, and breakfast in particular was excellent. We ate in during our stay and were very impressed. The only slight downside was the size of the room. We booked for two adults and two children, and although the lovely staff brought in two pull-out beds for the children, this did make the room quite cramped. Considering the price paid for the room, which was fairly high, a little more space would have been ideal. That said, this was only a minor point in what was otherwise a really enjoyable stay. Great staff, lovely surroundings, excellent food and a very well-presented hotel. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend it.

10/10 Exceptional

I recently enjoyed an excellent stay at this beautifully redecorated hotel, and it exceeded every expectation. The rooms have been transformed with a stunning deco‑design style — modern, elegant, and incredibly comfortable. You can really see the care that’s gone into the refurbishment. One of my favourite parts of the stay was the outdoor seating area. It’s a lovely space to relax in the sunshine, perfect for a quiet drink or simply unwinding after a busy day. During our stay, we also noticed many couples enjoying a leisurely lunchtime meal outside. The dining room is another standout feature. Once the old function room, it has been completely reimagined and is now a fantastic, spacious setting for meals. It feels like the hotel is making much better use of the space, and it adds so much to the overall experience. The food itself was excellent, and serviced at the table with plenty of choices available at both breakfast and dinner. Whether you prefer something light or something more indulgent, there’s genuinely something for everyone. What truly made the stay exceptional was the team. Every member of staff was highly professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. Their friendliness and willingness to help created a warm atmosphere that made us feel genuinely valued. A big thanks to Zak & Lou Lou for really looking after us. Overall, this hotel has done a remarkable job with its redesign, and the service is second to none. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

8/10 Very good

We stayed one night, we didn't eat or drink as we were going out to a party nearby, but the pub/restaurant looked nice and was quite busy. Despite how busy it was, the room was lovely and quiet and was nice and well presented with working air-conditioning. There were nice extra touches, like a heated towel rail, complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee, bottled water and nibbles plus a DAB radio. The bed was comfortable but sadly the double was only a 4'6" rather than the more usual 5' you find in the chain hotels, and since my husband is quite a broad, tall man it was really too small for us to sleep well. The ensuite shower room was lovely with high spec fixtures and fittings and the shower was excellent. There was plenty of free parking space too.

This was a family break with 3 kids aged 7 to 18 months, we found the Potter Heron because of the family room with kids connecting room with bunk beds. The kids ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I was so impressed by the rooms and the entire service and experience provided by the staff in the hotel and pub. This is a world class hotel, we’ve already booked our next stay!

2/10 Poor

The AC in our room did not work from the moment we checked in until we left. It was one of the hottest days of the year. We requested to be placed in another room, only to be told the hotel was full and nothing would be done. The staff and management did nothing to get it fixed. They gave us a fan and suggested it was our body heat that was causing the room not to cool. The manager asked us to sit at the bar for a few hours. We didn't want to sit at the bar. We only wanted to use the room we had paid for. We ate our dinner and returned to the room to find that nothing had been done. Since it was so late and finding a new hotel was difficult, we spent a long, hot night, trying to sleep in a pool of sweat. It was like sleeping in a tent outdoors. We clearly didn't get what we paid for and no genuine effort was made to provide any kind of accommodation. In short, this is a lovely hotel, but it is very poorly managed and there does not seem to be any real focus on customer service. Stay away.
