About Hotel Capannelle, Rome

Good-value hotel on Rome's outskirts

Just outside Rome
Hotel Capannelle is a great value option in a quiet area outside Rome. The hotel is just 3 km from Rome Ciampino Airport and 10 km from Rome city center. Airport shuttle service is available for a surcharge.

Roman baths
Downtown Rome lures with marquee sights like the Colosseum, and with reason. But Rome's outskirts have their attractions, too. Bonus? They're less crowded. The fascinating Roman Baths of Caracalla, 8 km away in Villa of the Quintilii, date back to 200 AD.

Free breakfast
For evening meals, Marco Polo restaurant serves traditional Italian dishes, and there's a bar for a relaxing drink afterward. Take a dip in the outdoor pool if the weather's fine. Breakfast is free.

Large rooms, free WiFi
Spotlessly-clean guestrooms are smoke-free and unusually roomy for Rome. Basic amenities include free WiFi and flat-screen TVs.

A little ways out of the way but still in the metro loop. Did have issues with the ai conditioning but the staff was able to fix it both nights in a timely manner.

Clean, but lacking customer service skills.
The Front desk staff was very rude throughout my stay. Even during my process of checking out a guest was having a disagreement about something and all 3 front desk staff were so busy arguing with her that by the time they even acknowledged me and gave me my receipt, my meter on my Taxi was at 18.50 before we left the driveway.

If I have read other guests' reviews or comments in advance, I should have avoided a really unpleasant experience!!! First of all, the location of this hotel really sucks! The hotel's information is really a trick!!! Only a few shuttles per day heading to airport (only CIA) back and forth. So, never expect that they will offer you free shuttle if you have a late or early flight arrival/departure. Besides, the employee working in the reception really "impressed" me!!! I was ripped off by a cab driver (Cuz he didnt use meter without informing me in advance and charged me 30 euros upon we almost got there)!!! Oh, the distance from CIA to hotel is within 10km btw. As soon as we arrived at hotel, I thought I need help from people working in the hotel, which made me feel super embarrassed!! Because that employee working in the reception was trying to help the driver, meanwhile she was telling me that the price is fixed price! I might be fresh here, but I am not a fool!!! I got two Italian friends who told me never take a cab of which driver is not gonna use meter, but I was too tired to ask the driver before we got on. After negotiation, I paid 20 euros as a result. I was feeling like this hotel is a truly snare that milk guests through charging unreasonable additional fees as a mean to make profit.

I had a very good stay there. The staff were really friendly and spoke many languages. Rooms are cleaned everyday. The only downside is there are looks a bit run down and not much to do locally.
