More like a poorly managed hostel
Our stay at the Ibis was disappointing. There was not a proper reception area which led to confusion. The staff took a long time to assist us and no one offered to help us with our luggage. It seemed to be understaffed. The rooms were like hostel rooms. Bare, not very comfortable and smelled strongly of detergent. When we went for breakfast in the morning we were told we could pay for breakfast in the front and then help ourselves (breakfast was still out). Another staff member then proceeded to tell us that we couldn't have any breakfast because it was closed despite the previous staff member saying we could have it. We then ordered coffees which they forgot about and took 20 minutes to bring. The staff were generally rude and unfriendly and were not present in the main area of the hotel. We often had to call them from the staff room as no one was there to assist. Overall, we were very disappointed in this experience.

Great Hotel/Location
Although it was a short stay, I really enjoyed it. The hotel is in a great spot. I’ll definitely revisit!

A Good Stay
Nice affordable hotel in a good location. It was clean and neat and staff was helpful. One weird thing about the room was the bathroom was like a giant plastic pod in one corner of the room. No mini fridge in the room either.

Not the place to stay if you want to sleep
The hotel is in an area of Bristol with offices, restaurants, a nightclub and a casino. So think large numbers of revelers in the neighborhood and, when it's open, booming, window-rattling noise from the club. It's the typical sleek Ibis style, with clean, functional, but not very spacious rooms. There's also the step to get into the space capsule, so for a modern hotel with elevators, it's not as accessible as you would imagine. It does not have its own parking area. You have to use the underground Millennium parking garage across the street - at a charge, of course. Here are the reasons I don't intend to stay here again: - It was so noisy outside that, even on the second night when the nightclub was not in session, I couldn't sleep with the windows open. - Desk staff are pleasant, but not particularly well-trained and supported. I was given misleading information on check-in on the price I would pay at the parking garage if the hotel stamped my ticket. But I had to pay three times as much as I was told. - Like the surrounding area, it's a bit of a party place. The bar stays open until the early hours of the morning. - We were kept awake for more than two hours by a fire alarm, set off by vandals. A sensor was broken, the staff could not switch it off and the fire brigade refused to attend to it because of the number of false alarms at the premises. Don't assume it won't happen again.
