Super awesome, clean hotel! Very close to Chinatown walking street but we couldn't hear it from our room at all! Wish we could have stayed here longer!

Robbery at the hotel ans some more bad things
Hi! We slept in this hotel 3 nights. The situation is not bad, near the center. Despite this, chinatown is so dirty, but the hotel is ok. We had 2 main problems here. The first one is that the martress is very very very bad. I suffered from back pain during 3 days, which is not acceptable for a 100 euros per night hotel. Now the main problem: WE GOT STOLEN IN THE BEDROOM. My fiancee left an expensive iPod touch with her work to do in it. We guess one of the cleaners used her time to check inside her bag and find it, taking it forever. We talked to the hotel to ask for a solution and, in a very bad temper, they said they fully trust their workers saying with this that we are something like simple liers. We are going back to Bangkok and we will go to the nearest police station to demand them. This is not acceptable for such an expensive hotel. So if you do not want to suffer from a horrible back pain, you do not want to smell awful smell entering the hotel and you do not want to get stolen, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL.

Bangkok Gem
We loved our stay!! Gorgeous authentic colorful rooms! Service was wonderful! Enjoyed a nightly cocktail in bar with live music before walking out on the town for street food. Breakfast was a 10!! Cappuccino was delicious...xtra but worth it!! Beautiful public areas! Centrally located and only minutes from main train station. We would stay here again!

Best avoided
Our room had plenty of mold, but no window. Spoke to the front desk, was told there were no actual windows in the whole hotel. I requested they mention it in marketing material, since some of us feel uncomfortable in windowless rooms and this try to avoid them. Front desk replied with obvious impatience that the information would be passed on to management. I of course heard nothing more of the matter. I was, however, approached by staff at two different times with unsolicited advice as to photo opportunities on hotel grounds. So A+ for social media strategy, but not quite regarding customer service. The hotel is unarguably photo-worthy, but the room design is not functional. Loads of small annoyances, like ill-placed faucets and too small bedsheets. Cleaning was not bad, but maintenance is obviously lacking and the impression is that the hotel has seen better days. The before mentioned mold being the most obvious symptom. Oh, and the aircon did not work during daytime. No idea if it is some sort of money saving scheme or a weird malfunction, as my attempt at reaching out to the front desk did not motivate a repeat. Location is excelent, with great street food and vibrant back alleys. But also plenty of hotels, most being better options than Shanghai Mansion.
