Campanile Dijon St Apollinaire, Saint-Apollinaire

For some reason there is always something wrong in the Campanile hotels where I have stayed. In this case it was the electronic key that didn't open the door and there were not towels. It took several trips to the reception and some waiting to fix both. After the initial hiccup, the rest of our stay was pleasant. The room was clean and it had good space, there was a tub, plenty of hot water and the breakfast was actually pretty good (about 10 Euros). I could not make the AC work, but lucky us it was fresh outside. The free parking was a nice addition, and the front desk staff was friendly and spoke very good English. They got us a map and assisted us with plenty of information. This hotel is outside the city center, so I drove downtown. Dijon is not too big, so it was convenient to drive. The wireless internet and the TV both worked very well.

Quick overnight stay and was perfectly adequate

Standard campanile hotel the staff seemed a bit "offish" to start but while we were having dinner the wife had to do some translating for some Chinese guests they had and the staff seemed to warm to us after that. Other than that it's Campanile does what you expect at least with them you get tea/coffee in the room

This hotel is a good transit hotel - it has no other purpose and is good at what it provides, with clean rooms. It has a restaurant which is okay - not exciting - more functional than anything else. Drinks are expensive and they try to use some cheap whisky at 6 euros a shot, which is unnecessarily penny-pinching). Biggest gripe is the internet, to access free wifi you have to agree to their t&C which include spam mailing - don't like that and also, the wifi range is limited to the restaurant area and is SLOW! In this day and age a good wifi is very important.

Good Campanile though not typical as rooms are within a building rather than off external walkways. The room seemed larger than usual Campaniles, but with typically comfortable beds, helpful staff and usual continental buffet breakfast. A good place for an overnight stay.
