Inn at Glencairn, Princeton

Superb inn in a beautiful setting. A great privilege to be able to "live" in an historic house built in stages, in the 1730s and 1760s, set on an historic road (originally a wagon road). Delightful and extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable hostess.Truly, full service. Couldn't have been happier with my stay. And breakfast was a feast. Will return for future visits whenever in Princeton area.

Great find
I loved everything about the inn. Very comfortable and relaxed. Great common room to hang out and meet others. Softest sheets and towels ever! And delicious breakfast. Will be back!

Worst hotel visit since the Soviet union in 1980's
I had wanted to stay at the inn at Glencairn for a while .Lydia, the manager was welcoming and cooked us a delicious breakfast. However, I slept really badly and had one of the worst experiences I have had sleeping away from home. Firstly, the sheets and pillowcases were sprayed with a really strong, nauseating chemical flowery smell, which made me choke and cough so that I had to open all the windows, sleep on top of the bed and wrap the pillows in towels to get even minor relief from the overpowering smell . The manager said no guest had ever mentioned it before but the next day, one of the other guests said she had been very aware of it as well and found it very unpleasant. Worse than this was that my right arm started itching in the night. During the next day it became clear I had been bitten, as 10 -12 large , itchy red welts came up on my right arm, the right side of my face and on two fingers. They itched badly for the next week, even after I applied cortisone cream and took anti-histamines, and the welts are only disappearing 9 days later. I had to treat all my luggage for bed-bugs when I got home, just in case. When I informed the manager, so that she did not put another guest without treating the room she was both disingenuous and dismissive and again claimed that I was the only person who had ever had that problem and that she had already put guests in the same bed I had been so badly bitten in. She offered no apology or refund of any kind.

The perfect stay!!
What an amazing trip!! Everything about my stay was amazing, from the INCREDIBLE breakfast to the gorgeous grounds! Lydia was amazing, and left nothing unattended/uncared for. Being able to sit in the living room and drink complimentary red wine with my partner was such a treat, as we're Lydia's incredible pumpkin pancakes!! The rooms were lovely, the bed was comfy- we will definitely be back!
