Excellent value
The hotel is about to undergo renovations, which are needed to freshen the rooms and common areas. Even though the rooms can use the update, I must say the housekeeping was outstanding. Also, the dining staff were excellent, helpful, and friendly. The front desk staff were also helpful, although not quite as much as other staff in general.

Great staff, very good hotel
Chancellors is great at what it does, it’s a conference centre and venue and also a good 3* hotel. Accommodation is good albeit small it is clean, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfasts are very good value, continental or the full English and I also ordered pasta one lunch time which was very enjoyable. Service is consistently excellent, competent and cheerful. I forgot my phone charger and literally everyone from reception staff to the lovely cleaning staff were super helpful and kind. I’d definitely stay again.

Charming
This is a very nice hotel but my room was a little small. Being a converted old house it has some lovely grounds and an odd layout. This, however, just adds to its charm.

Small room but great stay.
The room was very small. Could not turn off the heating. Staff were excellent. Everything else very good. Unfortunately no rubbish collection in the local area for weeks die to the snow that had now melted.

Rooms (and therefore beds) are small but they are clean and recently refurbished. Bathrooms are more sensibly sized, well appointed and clean. Main grievance is we went to the bar around 9 on a Saturday night and couldn't get served, not a staff member anywhere in sight.
