Left me wanting MUCH less of what was...
The location is decent. Restaurant on premises. Unfortunately, the free parking space can be had if you are there early enough. Hotel and restaurant have restricted spaces, and that became a headache. I arrived around 7 on a Saturday evening, and if was jam-packed. The front desk staff was a lady who just could not be bothered more than that. The morning front desk staff was quite nice, but upon arriving, I was not made to feel particularly welcome. There is also a karaoke bar that is definitely creeping into your personal space well into past 1am. I understand, there is nothing hotel staff can do about another business. However, the noise associated from loud talking on their premises right outside the main entrance, they can. Loud talking at 4am is not acceptable. I wanted to complain. Got up, and then, I realized, there was no way of calling downstairs because there was no phone! Definitely a sub-par experience. Unless dragged there, I will pass though.

Stepping stone to the Eurotunnel
Relaxing place to stay on the way to Calais. Good menu and formule but a Normandy hotel without cidre?? Very straight forward and easy drive to the Eurotunnel, even in poor weather and the dark.

AVOID HOTEL
The description and photos were good online, but nothing like our room 35 The corridor smelt of stale cabbage water. The room looked like a prison cell, in white with a small double and a single bed squeezed in. No A/C, just a street window to reduce the heat from ancient radiators. Also 1 bulb blown. No instructions for TV & phone, or hotel information. We had paid for a superior double room! We went straight to reception, who told us nothing else was available, AND that the room was a superior one, and the small double bed was the biggest they do. Later we discovered that the shower didn't work.and that highly audible partying went on until gone 2 o/clock somewhere in the hotel We decided enough was enough, and went to reception before 7 AM and complained to the clerk, who offered us a free cup of coffee before our departure! WE HAD SADLY PREPAID ON LINE. However the excellant restaurant Brasserie Le Vainquai is attached to the hotel, and is worth a visit if you can get out of your mind how bad the hotel can be.
