Amazing view and location. Food was great. Our room was older which was fine but there was a loud squeaky noise on and off all night...made it tough to sleep well.

Overpriced
We stayed here for two nights recently as part of a wedding party, and whilst our room was clean and comfortable, it was on the lower floor of the hotel, meaning that our view of outside was of a brick wall. We had requested an alternative room upon checking in, but were told that the only room available was a small one with no bath, so we kept the room we were given. However, we later discovered that most of the people we knew at the wedding, who were only staying for one night were given rooms with magnificent views of the bay. The room was also extremely noisy as on the second morning of our stay, the weather was stormy and we were woken up by corrugated sheeting banging very loudly overhead (our room was underneath the exit to the smoking area of the function room). We booked our room on a room only basis, so on the first morning of our stay, we headed to the restaurant for breakfast, however when we were informed that breakfast what the breakfast would cost which was outrageous, we opted to drive to the nearest village and pay a third of the price for a full Irish breakfast. One final thing which I thought was very unusual was a note in the room which stated that while the hotel was happy for guests to bring a bottle of wine into their hotel room for consumption, they would charge corkage should the guests request a bucket of ice and/or glasses! I have stayed in hotels all over Ireland and have never seen anything like this. We would not stay in this hotel again.

We were very disappointed with our stay here especially with the hotel rated as a 4 star. Our room was not worth the money given... the furniture in our room was very dated and the paint work on some of the furniture had come off. And to top it all off we were unable to use the toilet sink or shower in our room the next morning due to a burst pipe at the hotel. This meant we were unable to use the bathroom facilities, the swimming pool or spa! We did report this to the manager the next morning and we did receive a 30% discount. I will not be returning to this hotel.... beautiful setting and grounds to this hotel but the room we stayed in is desperate need of a make over to reach a 4 star rating!
