5-star service but not the nicest area
We were in Piraeus for one night and wanted to be close to the ferries but the surrounding area was not the nicest. Room was outdated but fine for a place to sleep. Staff was excellent, packed us a to-go bag with sandwiches since we had an early ferry and would be missing the complementary breakfast. We were 10-15-min walk from the ferry port and <5 min walk to the metro which we took to go to Athens during the day.

Very good!
Great service! The hotel was very welcoming. It is in a great location near the port. Plenty of restaurants and markets and an easy cab ride to the Acropolis. The bed was a little uncomfortable. They had pushed two twin beds together to make a king but with no mattress topper so there was a crease in the middle. The room service was good and they were so kind as to give us sandwiches on our early departure to the port. The bathroom was good. Nothing special but nothing wrong whatsoever. Not the best bathrobes but they worked! Overall a good stay!

Very pleased with Piraeus Theoxenia
Very good hotel. We have stayed only for one night though. Found a very good offer at Theoxenia and booked this one instead of a cheaper one in Piraeus. The area is good, I have lived in the area for years so I know it well. If you are staying in Piraeus I would suggest you avoid the port area if you wish to go out and you go from the other side, to the centre (DImotiko, Pasalimani, Marina Zea etc) of the city which is only 5-10 mins walk and have plenty of choices around and very beautiful. The bus stop (Dimotiko) form the airport is only a couple of minutes walk. To get from the hotel to the bus stop towards the airport is about 5 minutes and you have choices to pick up the bus either from the port, Pasalimani or Gr. Lampraki street. The underground (at the port) is about 5-10 mins walk but at night after 10 is not a very nice walk although I have never felt unsafe. You can also get a bus from Athens centre and get off in the same stop Dimotiko if you do not wish to walk too much. The breakfast was also very good. Very pleased with the hotel overall.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, but not 5 *
First impressions weren't good, but improved in daylight. Rather than post a negative review, it might be more constructive suggesting a few improvements that could be made. 1. Market yourselves as a 4 star, rather than present, you are over promising and under delivering. 2. Add mattress toppers to the over firm beds. 3. Add quality shower fittings and screens rather than "1 euro shop" style shower heads and shower curtains that cause serious flooding in the bathroom. 4. A monogrammed large front entrance mat and a few improvements to the foyer will give guests a bit more of the wow factor they are expecting. 5. The breakfast room is a large, high ceiling room with tiled flooring. Add some music to give a bit of "warmth" to the breakfast experience. And finally, 6. When a guest expresses concerns during a "first impressions" survey and you reply that "you will resolve it directly with the guest", keep to your word and don't just ignore it.. As for Pireaus, a nice enough town, but head for the small bay on the opposite side to the port for trendy bars and restaurants. If you are looking for a nice waterfront hotel to watch your cruise ship sailing in from, you won't find it. Even the deceptively named "Pireaus Port" hotel is up a back street.

Nice hotel convenient to pier and metro.
The area is really the only problem. Its all businesses. We walked back from the metro in the evening with all the businesses closed and it gave me pause. We figured a better route on larger streets and I felt safer. The hotel has a good breakfast in a lovely room. The staff spoke English well and were friendly. There is a pretty yellow building across the street to see from the room. Lots of surfaces to put luggage on. Lots of outlets. The bed was a little firm ,they should invest in those pads. There were 2 extra pillows and some covers in the closet. Everything was clean and in good repair. The air conditioning worked great! Would I stay again? Yes,if I wanted to be near the pier. Check out the beautiful greek orthodox church that you walk by on the way to the metro station or pier.
