Nice rooms, good bar and restaurant. Peaceful setting near the Spey river and national park. A short drive to the many distilleries of Speyside.

Hotel
Rooms were very antiquated and the free wifi harkens back to the days of dial up. Staff and service was extremely friendly and helpful.

Craiglynne - an "interesting" experience
We stayed at Craiglynne Hotel due its easy access to The Glenlivet Distillery. We had 3 rooms, 2 adults in each room, one of whom was my 85-year-old mom. Due to the fact that this is Scotland, there is no a/c in the rooms and it's probably not needed; however, the radiator was running in one of our rooms and that was most definitely NOT required. When we went to find hotel maintenance at about 9.30 pm, we discovered that the front desk was CLOSED and the bar man was the contact. But it seemed he was out back smoking and joshing around with the cute female hotel staff. Once we finally located him, he and a colleague came up to see if there was anything they could do to get that darned radiator turned off as we felt we were in a sauna. No luck (no surprise), so we just had a miserably hot evening. This hotel seems to cater to the bus-tour trade, which is fine, but expect the dining room to be a madhouse (although the servers are running like madmen to get everyone accommodated) and certainly don't expect any service of any type after 9 pm. Overall, it was a place to sleep on the Malt Whisky Trail. Can't recommend, sorry.

We only stayed one night in twin rooms, was a mix up about the booking but was put right quickly. The staff were lovely if a little disorganised. The food was good and hot we went with the chef's choice a bit pricey for three courses for what you got but enjoyed it.

Highland Happiness
Very friendly staff in a lovely old hotel. Don't expect modern - but relish in the old highland feeling this hotel brings. Pets are welcome. The food is good. The drinks are slightly higher priced than the high street but not too bad for a hotel in the area. It's a great base to explore the area with good walks close by too. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and will likely be back with the Dog!!
