Pelicanos Beach Club - Solid 2 Star Resort
You get what you pay for - this is definitely on the low end for All-Inclusive accommodations. Having said that, the hotel staff make a great effort to ensure guests are looked after. Every interaction I had with staff was pleasant, and they went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I always seem to choose the hotel undergoing major construction, amd in this case the west side of front lobby is under construction. I arrived to the noise of jack hammers and drilling. In addition, this is a family oriented resort and there are a lot of children - many children. Fortunately, there are two pool areas, and the majority of families with small children spend their time around the pool in the central hotel courtyard. Also, the resort is popular with the locals, so expect a true Mexican experience and view this as an opportunity to practice your Spanish. Important to note that the hotel itself does not front onto the beach, it is a block away. However, they do have a beach club across the street from the hotel that does, and the views are stunning. The rooms are basic, stone tile floors, simple furniture, big windows - only the ground floor rooms have outdoor/patio access. Sounds echo from the hallway into the rooms, and the bathroom area is small. However, the staff keep the rooms as clean and tidy as any 5 star hotel. Room amenities include AC, TV, phone, and in room safe. I was impressed by the water pressure in the shower and lots of hot water

Not a 3 Star Resort
I can’t complain to much about this place it was super cheap. That being said you get what you pay for. The resort is small, the food is overall terrible and I’m not picky. Breakfast was like 2.5/5 not bad but not good. The lunch and dinner buffet was just garbage. They had very limited choices and the food was just gross. The Italian specialty restaurant was good but like what you expect cheap Italian to be. The Asian specialty restaurant was again just garbage. We mostly stuck to breakfast and fries by the pool. The pizza by the pool and civiche was good but I wouldn’t eat the burgers or hot dogs. Drinks were watered down and poorly made at the pool on the beach. The other pool had better drinks and beer. Loved the mago Rita’s at the chill cafe but it wasn’t ever open late enough. The “club” was stupid no one really went, most the time no dancing or karaoke hours weren’t what was posted (but this was true for a lot of the restaurants/bars too). The drinks at the club were really bad too. The pools, beach and rooms were nice. Staff was super friendly with the exception of a few that have no business working with the public (straight up rude!). They checked us in to the wrong room (paid for a king was given doubles) had to wait an hr to speak to a manager to get the correct room. the hotels policy with Expedia guests is that you have to checkout at 11am and they cut your bracelet so if you’re at the hotel after 11am they want to charge you $25 usd pp to drink/eat/towels.

This is not a beachfront resort as advertised. This resort is located off of the busy main street in PV and from the resort you can walk across the street and down a sidewalk path to get to a beachfront pool area that is part of the resort. The resort was under construction when I was there. It looked like it shouldn't be open to the public because it was clearly not finished. My room was supposed to be a garden view; it was not. There was some grass out of the sliding door and an area that was under construction. The food there is buffet style and not good or fresh. We tried to eat breakfast there one day (it was all inclusive after all) but we never ate there again. The room smelled stale and was damp. My clothes were literally damp to the touch after being in the hotel room for one night. The beds were comparable to sleeping on plywood with blankets. The bathroom was tiny and dingy. The hotel staff was pleasant enough but not super friendly or accommodating. The sister resort, Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort, is down the beach a little ways from the beachfront pool you walk to. It is very nice and actually beachfront. We asked to upgrade there because that was what we were actually expecting to get for accommodations when we booked this resort but they could not accommodate because the Grand Resort was booked. We ended up leaving, forfeiting all of the money we spent on the resort, and going to the Westin PV over by the marina which was lovely.

Unhappy Traveler
My experience at this hotel was not good I previously stayed at this hotel last year and this year it was terrible my room was not comfortable the bed was not sturdy, I could not use the phone in my room it was no buttons just a empty phone, the wifi did not work and I could not use my cell phone to contact my family or kids, the food was horrible it made me ill and it was sloppily put together, I also noticed that the beach was a very small section no place to relax or just hang out on the beach it was very crowded on the part of the beach by the hotel, plus construction was going on and it was not a peaceful relaxing place. I noticed that there were so many kids and families there this year where as last year same time it was more laid back adults, my experience was not up to standard and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The fact I paid $900+ to stay in a place like this and pay extra for my flight because the flights were very scarce and not accommodating the flights were horrible too but United was great! I left this place not wanting to use Expedia anymore.

good location
The hot food wasn't hot, the rooms were worn and there wasn't much sound deafening between rooms. You get what you pay for, the price was nice, pretty cheap actually, and the staff was great, really enjoyed Claudio at the swim up bar. The Chinese restaurant was fantastic, probably the best food at an all inclusive I have ever had. The pools could be quiet when there wasn't an activity going on, but the music from the speakers was often so loud that you couldn't talk to each other with out yelling. The beach was a little walk away and not the white sandy beach I was hoping for, and considering they said it was a private beach I assumed there would not be solicitors there-I was wrong. The location was good, there were shops with in walking distance and it was a safe place to go for tourists. There was only one bar open late night and it was too loud to sit and have a conversation. If you know what you are n for and want something cheap, this would be a good place to go, but as I am getting older I will not go back there.
