First off the staff was very nice, especially the morning staff who helped us learn about the local area. The second we got in caused problems though, couldn’t find the reservation, then sent us to a sardine can sized room that stunk like hell when I booked a room with a balcony. Complained with proof of my booking said balcony room and the counter guy made like he was doing me a favor and it was me that made the mistake. He was nice but explained he could do the upgrade because the hotel wasn’t full. ( not surprised ) But that if we were staying longer it wouldn’t be possible. Glad he made this clear because it made my decision to NOT book here another night like we planned, so much easier. Got to the balcony room to be given a view of the front garden instead of the sea, that’s fine but he put us in the room where the garden’s LED disco light flashed all night long and was even visible through our curtains. The room also was old smelling and severely outdated, the room needed paint and the bathroom was so ugly and from 1970. The irony is also that the tv in the upgraded room was tiny compared to the sardine can room. Oh and also the air conditioning didn’t work. Was just a noisy fan. Would’ve opened the windows but then the disco light would come in even more and we would’ve also had to listen to an incessant beeping noise from outside all night. Horrible first night in Istria. Thankfully breakfast was included and was pretty good. DO NOT be fooled by the photos of Pineta.
