Surprisingly high price for “not so much”
An unusual high price for a bit old-fashioned place. I can’t compare a hotel room comfort in Stockholm, Paris, Nice, Monte Carlo, Rome or Berlin and the one in Komondor hotel even though I understand the popularity of Dubrovnik in past years... the hotel is not bad at all but the price doesn’t simply correspond with the reality you get... personal is nice, no fridge, good AC, and food like in a low range restaurant...the biggest disappointment was cleaning staff because they skip our room 5 times from 7 days... Anyway we enjoyed our holiday I would just recommend to look for options but unfortunately I guess that the hotel situation in Dubrovnik is similar and that this hotel is not the only one a bit overpriced...

Komodor Hotel stay.
The Komodor hotel is ok, but our room wasn't good. The bed was in very bad condition. Because of our early departure for our flight home, we were promised a box lunch instead of our included breakfast. When we checked out, the clerk wasn't able to find them. This caused us to not have food until we stopped in Frankfort.

Very Good8.0
Decent but not amazing.
Was a decent stay. Good location. Took about 45 minutes to walk to the old city, but a very easy ride on the bus back. Nice beach right across the road and more within walking distance. Only complaints....wifi was terrible and there was an open ceiling in the bathroom.... which was open to the one next door.... so anything happening in there was loud and clear. I would not oppose anyone staying here, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Ok hotel in good location
Good location across the street from the beach and around the corner from #4 bus to old city, but showing signs of age and pretty basic. Room was pretty clean, bed was ok but not super comfy. Common areas were less clean than room. My room was on a weird 4th floor accessible only by stairs at side of hotel. Pretty sure my room wasn’t intended to be a room during construction due to the slope in ceiling. Breakfast was included and fine. Main complaint is that I had two ant outbreaks in room from moment I checked in - one in bathroom and one on desk next to bed. I asked multiple times for a new room but told no (likely I had a cheaper room and they didn’t want to upgrade me to a room on a “real” floor). Pretty gross sleeping surrounded by bugs for a couple nights. Finally they brought in some “poison” to kill the aunts, which also didn’t make me super comfortable. There was a crib and a shopping cart just sitting in the hall on the way to the pool (sometimes these were used to store linens!), which added to the run-down vibe of the hotel. Pool area was also dirty - used wet Kleenex’s around for a couple days, dirty loungers, etc. In addition, the elevator seemed to break down often (would not go up three times while I was there). I got a good deal on this hotel and didn’t expect it to be equivalent to a 5-Star, and was happy with clean sheets and a shower at the end of a day wandering about, but am less happy about the ants and the other issues noted above.

All was ok apart from original room allocated was next to a generator & I didn’t want to listen to a generator so asked for a different room. The next room was fine but the wind had made the awning detach & all through the night a consistent loud banging. I called reception at 5:30am they said someone would come up, no one did. At around 6:30am the awning was ripped off and fell to the pool area. I’d had no sleep & asked if I could have the room for longer than check out for free & this was not acknowledged or catered for - they did let me off the 8 Euro tax. I felt this was very poor, I thought the awning was going to come through the window, the hotel manager said that wouldn’t happen which puzzled me. He wasn’t there & how could he predict how a massive metal object blowing in ferocious winds would behave.
