Overpriced and hot
This was more like a hostel than a bed and breakfast. At $332 a night, it was way overpriced. The light in our bathroom went out the first night we were there and wasn't fixed until we were leaving a day and a half later. It made it very difficult to get ready or shower without the door open for light and with kids in the room, that is just very inconvenient. No discount was offered when I complained to the front desk. Our room was very hot and the weather was 88 degrees during our stay. We walked a lot and it would have been nice to come back and cool down in our room but we we unable to adjust the temperature in our room. Temperature is not controlled in the rooms. At night it was difficult to sleep because it was hot in the room. I found the bathroom to be clean but the floors were dirty. Everything was very basic here and I would not return. At $332 a night, it was very overpriced.

Great place to stay.. !
Stayed here for 2 nights, room was clean, staff was friendly. Snacks and beverages thru out the day. Many options for morning breakfast. Would definitely go back.

Fantastic place that truly grows on you.
I was initially a bit weary when I saw the room and the parking lot adjacent to the Hotel-proper was way too small for my SUV. However, by the morning I absolutely loved its charm and character. It's not fancy, and you'll be walking up a few flights if you elect to stay in the private bathroom rooms (which I did), but it offers such an inviting ambiance that is so much preferable over cookie-cutter hotels that are at least $50 more expensive per night and nearly all charge about that for parking. The porch is a wonderful place to do work and the breakfast (this is a B&B after all!) was delightful. I love Cambridge and accessing Boston only takes a brief walk to the Red line at Harvard Sq. There is a larger lot a few doors down at 40 Irving, but driving in Cambridge/Boston really ought to be outlawed - it's as though someone threw spaghetti on the floor and decided it's a good road plan. In summary, stay here. I surely will every time I hop into Cambridge or Boston.

Stay if you are sure about location & only walking
This experience has definitely made me think twice about booking with a local business if I don't know the area. Turns out, the congress we were here for was 45-minute drive away, and when I realized my mistake, I had checked into this establishment and booked for 3 nights. I asked the night clerk what my options were for checking out the next day and he told me to speak with the manager the next day. Turns out the manager is also the owner, and she was very abrasive. I started the conversation with admitting that I failed to look up this particular Harvard hall which was further away than I expected. I told her I'd spoke to the night clerk and he said to speak with her to see what my options were. She belittled me and told me it was my fault for "not googling" on my own. I found that very frustrating because I had already admitted that I failed to look up the location. She then told me there was nothing she could do because she was too full and didn't have time to resell the room. Bam. End of story. It wasn't the outcome I wanted but that did not bother me nearly as much as her condescending, aggressive tone and attitude. Other problems: Almost non-existent parking and what was there was too tight to get around other cars safely, steeps stairs for carrying bags, lack of helpful information in room guide including maps or local restaurants, paper thin walls, unpleasant room smell, and poor toiletries quality and smell. Overall, not a great experience to say the least.

Small but nice
It was the smallest room I've had for the most I've paid for a hotel room, but it was still cheaper than other options in the area. I was worried about the shared bathroom ( a few bathrooms per floor with many rooms) but it was never occupied when I went to use it and there were others to use if it had been. It is right next to Harvard campus and you can walk the other way for restaurants. Breakfast had a lot of variety (but the same variety every day, so don't think you have to try everything your first morning there).
