Ear Muffs required .
An incredible building to look at however it was rather "snug " in the Junior suite . Maintenance could have been better , light bulbs out , toilet roll holder hanging off the wall . Just minor details to be addressed . The noise levels outside were not acceptable ( from before 7 am ) Everybody and his brother seemed to be dragging something across the gravel courtyard . The chef/ porter going through the bins looking for a bottle or something was quite annoying to put it mildly . We did get a discount on our total . The location is beautiful

Old style charm with added luxury
From the moment we arrived till we left we had the most fantastic stay. Everyone was polite and accommodating. Room service was put of season but they allowed me to order myself some dinner as I didn't want to disturb fellow diners with a tired grouchy toddler. The room was lovely and big and so quiet. Breakfast was amazing and the coffee top notch. It was so delicious I could have stayed an extra night. When visiting family in the future I will once again stay here. The White Company toiletries were divine and made the room extra luxurious.Beat's my usual style of camping! The only things I would have liked is hotter water in the shower and bath & the carpet could do with shampooing as it smelt a bit - but then I only noticed as we played there.

The hotel is in a lovely setting in olde world, historic Old Amersham. We had a pleasant enough stay but had a couple of niggles which detracted - the freeview TV system was awkward and difficult to navigate, and we found the service somewhat lacking.

Could have been better
One night stay to attend a funeral in Amersham. 'Easy chair' in room was appallingly uncomfortable. Bed was OK but only covering was a duvet that was far too hot in the prevailing weather. Breakfast choices limited. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Every thing wonderful. However alcohol is a tad expensive. At breakfast there was scrambled eggs, no notification that you could have boiled, poached or fried eggs, a little comment but every thing else was wonderful
