Seemingly effortless excellence and hospitality!
I booked Shangri-La Eros for our 4th wedding anniversary and have to really say we haven't felt so pampered since our honeymoon! Check-in and room - swift, courteous and prompt. The suite was fantastic - we especially loved the spacious bathroom and sense of space. The bed was divine. A special thanks to Ms Ashi Asif at the front desk and Mr Sunny Sharma from the front office for their warm welcome, smiles and enthusiasm. Spa - we had the couples spa and it was honestly the best massage we have had and that is quite a compliment given the number of trips we have had to Bali, Thailand etc! Sumptuous facilities, smiles everywhere and professional service, which was just the icing on the cake of a lovely week in India. Drinks / dinner - the drinks at Tamra were top notch and it was lovely to speak to the friendly team for their advice and have their genuinely warm service. Sorrento had lovely outdoor seating and we really enjoyed speaking to the staff - Mr Ashwani Kaushik, Restaurant Manager went above and beyond the call of duty by accommodating our dietary needs as we were meeting my cousins and handled a bespoke tasting menu for us that amazed and impressed us all. We hope you continue to develop your interest and passion for Italian food and wine! Having spent a week eating Indian food we needed a change and being seasoned Londoners, we were slightly hesitant, but we really needed not to as this was on par with the best we have had in Europe! A special mention must also g

It's good but been better!
This is the 4th time we have stayed. Always book a horizon club room as it's good value, but due to construction work this has moved. Checkin was not great no explanation about the club offer, timings etc... actual temp club area is great & quality of offering is good but staff do seem to show a preference to their western customers (note we are British Indians) the hotel is currently refurbing rooms. We stayed in a refurbed room which on the face of if looked great. However I don't know who the Shangri la employed for this program but finishing is really shoddy and there is a lot of finishing which still needs to complete (masking tape still left around the doors with paint and messy gaps exposing wire in the paneling). Our shower was broken ( but fixed immediately) but the room lighting was hard work. The master light, (which flooded the whole room with light) had to be switched on to put the bathroom lights on. We informed reception who insisted we were wrong. They apparently fixed it but still had the same problem... we was only there for 2 nights so by the 2nd night it was too late to fix it. Spa was amazing and good value. Ravi gave me the best pedicure and his colleagues (I wish is had their names) gave me the best Indian head massage and blow dry with coconut oil - hair has never felt better. I love the shangri la, it's always my first choice hotel when I arrrive I Delhi but something was amiss this time. Hope they don't forget quality values which makes them so great

Careful about renovations. Some rooms really smell
Major renovations taking place on several levels to individual rooms. We were shown a new room though it had a mouldy smell which the bell boy attributed to glue or putty used on the fixtures. The smell was overwhelming. The hotel showed us a second brand new room which had the same problem. Then moved us to an old horizon club level room which was fantastic. The old design was better. Marble and wood. Top class. Buffet was too busy. Fixtures a little dirty and rushed service. Food quality was good but we had just moved from the Sheraton saket in Delhi who's food was amazingly good. This was not as good. Central location is awesome and overall we had a great stay. It's a very good hotel but they should have closed the levels one by one to renovate and change the chemicals used immediately when the smell problem was first picked up. We were disappointed with how busy the hotel was. It wasn't so relaxing. I would try them again in the future.

Beautiful hotel great staff l but overpriced !
Stunning hotel . Great service from Resturant staff especially at the breakfast and dinner buffets . Staff treat you like royalty . Always smiling and eager to please . Still I think the hotel is overpriced comparable to other hotels in the vicinity . Rooms beginning to show tiredness .. wallpaper bubbling off walls. Decor is modern with great views of the city . I had the worse experience at the spa . Had booked the Abyanga massage but the the whole experience felt like oils being hurriedly and sloppily applied to your body . Perhaps it was that my massage was booked for 10pm and the therapist was in hurry to go home . Further the therapist in the dressing room .. literally dug into a pile of unpressed gowns lying in a heap and handed one to me to wear . I didn’t think the whole spa experience at nearly 9000 rupees was worth it at all. I complained and the charge for the massage was removed of my bill .

In the heart of embassy row, the hotel is perfectly situated for day trips in and around Delhi. Short walks to explore parks and squares near the hotel are an option, and taxis are plentiful for local transportation. The staff is one of the more professionally trained I've encountered in years of travel - every employee provides world-class service. Of particular note are Mr. Sajid and Ms. Mehar (restaurant) and Mr. Mohit (gym) for their graciousness and attention to detail. The gym is well-equipped and open 24/7. Dining choices are excellent. In the Italian restaurant, the chef and his proteges offer great alternatives when you need a change from the delicious traditional food of India. The lush compound represents an oasis in a busy metropolis that has rather poor air quality; it is apparent, however, from sustainability efforts by the capital district (such as aggressive tree planting) that New Delhi is responding to environmental concerns. When in Delhi again, I plan to return to the Shangri-La.
