Very Good 8.0
Great for a single traveller on a budget.
Great area, easy access walking to everything (walking downtown takes 25 minutes). Showers are like any gym (a little dated) where you lock the door behind you. Toilets are also completely ok. Not a lot of traffic, so perfect in a low season, it feels like private bathrooms in that sense. Beds are not so good if you move a lot, very squeaky as they are made of cheap wood frames, very basic mattress, most likely old, but I slept well anyway.

Great location. Great price. It's a Dorm room.
Exactly what I expected based on the reviews I read and from it being a college dorm. Will definitely stay again for this price when I visit Toronto alone.

Just what you need
The attendant at the front desk was very helpful. My plans changed due to car trouble, and he was still able to make it possible for me to stay. The room was a dorm room that had just what I needed: bed, desk, closet, and chair. It was surprisingly quite. It had a communal shower and bath, but I did not mind, as it was in the heart of the city not too far from Chinatown. It was a great place to go and walk around. Parking was a bit difficult due to timing, but after 9 PM, the street was free until 8 AM. Street parking was $4 an hour during the day. There were two garages within walking distance, but the overnight charge only lasted until roughly 6 AM or 7 AM before you would be charged more. I did not use public transportation, but there seemed to be a train stop within a 2 minute walk. Great place for a Saturday night to Sunday stay. No charge on Sunday until 1 PM for street parking. You could sleep-in!

Very Good 8.0
Spartan but clean, convenient and functional. However, many rooms in dorm and some people go to bed late and others get up early, so if you are a light sleeper, may not be great.
