Very Good 8.0
Great facility with service issues
The Rosen is beautiful with great amenities. The pool area and service at the pool is great. The rooms are clean but we did not get cleaning service on one of our 3 days! We were out of the room from 9:30 to 4pm. The other aggravation throughout the stay was the poor room charging system throughout the resort. I tried charging drinks upon arrival and was told there was no card on file. Went to the desk and she scanned my cc and said we were set. Charged food at the bar and all went well. Grabbed breakfast the next day and when I tried charging to the room I was told they would have to get aporoval at the desk. When I asked why she said it was security for my protection. That is bs since she did not ask for id so she did not know who I was. So after 5 minutes the lady at the restaurant said go and she will get it taken care of. I went to the desk for the 3rd time in 2 days and the desk clerk said they only put a $50 hold on the card and apologized. I asked how we get this fixed for the rest of the stay and she asked if I wanted to put $200 on the card and I approved. The rest of my stay was fine on my charges. Then when I got home i saw my card had charges of $200, $100, $55, $50 and the $218 that was my final bill. $668 of charges to get $218 paid is ridiculous and the desk was not very concerned. In 45 yrs of travel when I give a cc at check in I have charged with no issues? The food at the restaurants are just ok, nothing great and over priced for what you get.

Fair 4.0
In the morning when I left my room, the maid was in the hallway and asked if I wanted service. I said yes. She asked me how many towels I had used. I told her I had not counted them. She just stared at me. I asked if she planned to clean my room, and she said yes. When I got back to my room at 6 pm, I found that it had never been cleaned. I had to call guest services twice to get anyone to come. Then, she didn't do a great job. There was debris on the rug from the previous guests. The carpet was never vacuumed. The hotel general manager told me that it is not the policy to vacuum daily. He promised to have someone come after I left the room to go to dinner at 7:30 pm, but no one ever came. The chief of housekeeping and the general manager apologized to me, but nothing was ever done. The general manager left a voice mail telling me he planned to call me back to find out if my problem was resolved. He never did. Lots of big talk at this hotel, but no action to back it up.

Poor 2.0
Chilly Showers and Service
The Rosen Shingle Creek was advertised as a luxury hotel so I decided to take my wife there for her 40th Birthday for a relaxing evening away from the kids. The room was fine, however, I wouldn’t call it luxurious. The issue with our stay occurred the following morning when we attempted to shower and had NO HOT WATER!!! We called the front-desk and were told the boilers were not working. No apology, no credit for our trouble, or even a modest acknowledgment or consideration for such a rude awakening. We tried to talk to management but were told that they don’t work on the weekends. Then, to make matters worse we were charged $18 for parking on our way out. This a not a classy “luxury” hotel. Sure, it’s big and looks nice, but the hospitality at this establishment is extremely lacking. I knew we should have stayed at the Gaylord!

Exceptional 10.0
Beautiful Large Hotel + Golf Course
This was our third time staying at Rosen Shingle Creek; we have really enjoyed every stay. This hotel is a convention hotel, so it is a very spacious hotel which has its pros and cons (lots of walking). Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel is a beautiful large stately hotel set back off the road about a quarter mile. It is located near the hustle and bustle of International drive, but is on a side road with a more relaxed feel. It has a lot to offer including an attached golf course, many nice restaurants and bars, three pools, a spa, and a nature trail. It is also within walking distance to a Publix and a small shopping center. The rooms are well appointed and the property is well manintained. A few things to consider- You can get a deal on the cost of a nightly stay at this hotel, but the extras add up fast, i.e. food, spa, shopping, and parking. This is not a budget sensitive place. The cost of most everything is pricey. Having said that, it is worth the splurge if you are willing to do so. Greatest room for improvement- The self parking!!!!! The parking is the biggest pitfal of this property. There is plenty of it, but the distance from the hotel is a deterrent, so people start parking everywhere and anywhere to be closer to the hotel. It adds on an extra 10 minutes everytime you want to use your car. Valet parking is $28. All things considered, this is still one of my favorite places to stay in Orlando.

Exceptional 10.0
Convenience and comfort. I was impressed!
There was a convention the weekend that we stayed, which meant certain times of day were crowded in the lobby- but it was never disruptive of our peaceful stay. We were placed in a 7th-story room, probably to put us far away from convention-goers, which was nice. We had a great partial view of the pool and golf course. The walk from self-parking to our room was quite long: about 10 minutes. However, we do appreciate the option to self-park and take our own luggage up, since we travel light. At the time of booking, I was able to take advantage of a discount on dining. I had to show my Expedia confirmation to receive the advertised promotion, which wasn't bad- but just be aware that the hotel may not have that information attached to your reservation. There is a Publix across the street, which is convenient- but we never did use it, because the 24-hour marketplace and multiple restaurants within the resort itself filled all of our needs! Very convenient to dine here. I thought that even room service was priced quite fairly. The room was very clean, and we had no problems there. However, there was a tray of half-eaten food in front of someone else's suite for almost the entire two days of our stay. I found that very off-putting and lacking in attention-to-detail on the part of the hotel staff responsible for such matters. We drove to lots of different points of interest from this hotel. Travel to Disney Springs took about 10-15 minutes by car.
