The hotel was dated and in need of a complete refurbishment but the staff were very pleasent and we slept well. The location was brilliant however if you have dfficulty in walking the steep hill would be a problem. The cooked breakfast was one of the tastiest we've had, plenty of it and piping hot.

We had amazing weekend in Woolacombe. Lovely place!!!!Hotel rooms condition a bit tired but very clean and comfortable. very nice and helpful staff!!!!! We had rainy day on our arrival so couldn't do much outside, but there was a lot to do inside like pool, darts, swimming pool etc.Lovely evening entertainment- amazing Sarah Devonshire!!!!!!! We will come back again!!!!!

Not very Royal
Sad really...dilapidated and tired well past its time. .needs a complete overhaul....lift permanently out of order..multiple stairs to climb..worn tatty carpets paintwork and general room decor. Better in public places. WiFi limited to reception area not available in room. Balcony unusable as the concrete floor warped and door stiff to open Beds very hard Bathroom really tatty... towels clean but worn and holey.Breakfast buffet was good in fact the food was the only thing acceptable. We were glad we had only 2 nights in this hotel which 50 years ago must have been lovely..prime position with superb views..now its ok if you are looking for a cheap break and can put up with the other stuff. Its spacious and has lounges to sit in and friendly bar but Not for elderly with mobility problems because of multiple stairs/steps

Cheap, tired, some charm
Plus points: free car park with overflow, Hot water, Huge room - 2 sections - double in one and twin in other. Hot drink facilities.Clean towels Spacious feeling - lots of rooms to sit in, snooker room (with 2 pianos) one ping pong table in ballroom, bar with big screen, wood panelled lounge with freeview TV, lots of sofas and selection of board games Room - terribly outdated but really big - retro TV showing standard 5 channels (plus BBC News) balcony with pot holes and garden chairs. The other room with twin beds had old pink blown vinyl wallpaper and old wooden furniture. Shower curtain staining at bottom but bathroom seemed clean. Victorian style mixer and power was good - hot water -Lots of soap but no other toiletries. pool - warm and clean but poor lighting and Very steep steps to changing rooms - no lockers or shower gel but towels for use there. Hot showers. Breakfast - really good! - great staff, lots of food - huge room with views over the bay

Awful place left a night early as it smelt, shower was out of the 70s, don't get me started on cleanliness and damp. Worst place I've ever stayed in my life!
