Would stay again
I booked this hotel on the whim thanks to other reviews. The hotel is in a good location, about a 30 min walk to Westlake. The room was a decent size and housekeeping was really good at stocking toiletry items and kept the room cleaned when I was away. My luggage was on a later flight and it arrived the next day to the hotel which I informed them to hold onto it until I come back. Concierge was good about that. Two issues I had while there was the language barrier (but that's to be expected while traveling overseas, however since it said international hotel, a different expectation was involved) and the wifi connection. It takes about 5 tries to be able to connect, however, others may not have an issue. Overall, I enjoyed staying here since i didn't encounter any major issues during my stay.

a little old school but comfortable
1. easy walk from metro, even with luggage 2. old school, a) indoor swimming pool, b) extremely run down crowded (not with people) exercise room, c) even had security at elevator checking id's to keep "unwanted" or maybe gain extra charge for"guests" visiting rooms. 3. cheap restaurants within 5 minute walk 4. relatively comfortable and roomy sleeping arrangement with large comfortable bed. 5. had a bit of run around at check in. It was as if they weren't ready for hotels.com foreign user. Was bounced to three different people in 2 different rooms to finally confirm check in. 6. English skills were minimal. overall would stay here again though price may be higher than necessary even in Hangzhou.

OK for business, some upgrades recommended
This is a decent 4 star hotel. The service isn't particularly bad or spectacular, it did the job. There aren't too many rooms that are not smoking, so better to book early and call the hotel to ensure you get a non-smoking room. What was a bit of an eyesore was everything that was marked "not complimentary", "uncomplimentary", etc, which included the hair dryer and the laundry bag. Well, I guess I never got the idea it was OK for me to take off with a hair dryer, but apparently some people did. Another minus point was the training room. It was probably designed and equipped in the 1980s - small weight plates in rusting steel, narrow benches you need to watch carefully when putting weight on, some machines that did not seem to work properly. They had plenty of treadmills, but then apparently the electricity was switched off. Pool is more ok for relaxing than training. Seemed clean. The last point I would like to mention is that my window was giving on a busy elevated freeway. The windows aren't exactly soundproof, but with good earplugs/high room it is possible to sleep. I would go there for short periods of time on business, sure. There are businesses and restaurants all around the block the hotel, it seems pretty central. For the money that was asked, the value was there. I would not recommend necessarily for an extended stay/family. The hotel may want to invest a bit into their 4-star amenities, like the training room and soundproof windows.
