About this home

*EXCELLENT VALUE NEAR DOWNTOWN* Spacious and private apartment with full kitchen/bath. Ten minutes drive from most Miami attractions, 15 minutes to South Beach & Ocean Drive.

Quiet, residential street. Centrally located by downtown, metro rail, shopping, freeways, airport, and walking distance to the medical campus hospitals (Jackson, UM, VA).

We have free street parking in front of our property. We also offer easy check-in with a code lock box for the keys.

This cheerful and sunny apartment has everything you might want in a vacation rental in Miami. Centrally located within ten minutes of Miami's most popular attractions, including South Beach, Wynwood Art District, Little Havana, Bayfront Park and Brickell downtown. We are also walking distance to the hospitals. After exploring the city, come home to a "Tommy Bahama" themed bungalow for relaxation and rest.

Enjoy many amenities including full bath and kitchen stocked with extras. This rental has a queen bed in the bedroom. In the living room area three people can sleep comfortably on a trundle bed with two twin mattresses and a twin futon couch.

The apartment is located on the first floor right off the garden and is quiet and tranquil. The kitchen has all equipment such as dinnerware, cookware, stove/oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and hotpot. The pantry and fridge are stocked with basic items such as coffee, creamer, sugar, and a few more helpful items. The bathroom comes with plentiful towels and other toiletry items.

We would like to let you know that we are non-discriminatory. We do not choose guests based on race, religion, orientation, age (18 is ok), gender, disability nor political beliefs. We find that the majority of our guests are lovely and conscientious no matter any of these factors or backgrounds.

We would like to be clear about damages, should they occur during your stay with us. We do send photos and charge replacement costs and extra cleaning charges if space is left in bad condition. By booking our place, you agree to leave the space generally cleaned and tidied up, and understand that you will be charged if left with stains or extra cleaning (meaning very dirty/messy). Thanks for this consideration.

We also do our best to be environmentally conscientious and our efforts include composting, water conservation, recycling, and providing filtered water (less single-use plastic bottles). We love it when guests help us to be more eco-friendly and create less of a negative footprint here in South Florida.

We also have two friendly resident outdoor cats named Sky and Charlie who live on the property.

Please don't hesitate to ask us questions about the interior space or amenities.

You have a private apartment to yourself, not shared with any other guests but your party. You do share the outdoor space on the property with the other guests and tenants. We have four other Airbnb listings.

We live only 10 minutes away and are available to help right away if there are any questions or issues that arise during your stay. We don't mind messages, texts, or phone calls anytime. Also, if interested in recommendations for what to do in Miami, we love our city and can help with places to see and to eat at that are wonderful, depending on your interests.

Our neighborhood is one of Miami's first subdivisions after the city was first founded in 1896, called

Spring Garden. Back then, the Miami River was a true spring fed estuary, running clear and strong from the Everglades. Miccosukee Indians used to trade with the Brickell family, using the river to travel in their canoes.

Renowned author and environmental activist, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, had her childhood home here in Spring Garden. Her father owned and edited one of Miami's first newspapers. As an adult, she wrote the influential book, Everglades, River of Grass. If you walk around the neighborhood next to the river, on the south side of 11th St and just west of us, you will see many original Miami homes, lovingly kept. If you're lucky, you might even see manatees in the river!

Our property was built in 1924, during Miami's first crazy real estate boom. This place has survived many economic ups and downs, and many major hurricanes. We're happy to share it with you now as a lovely spot from which to explore the Miami of today!

We have free and safe street parking in front of the property. One block away, on 11th St, there is a Metrorail stop at Culmer Station. From there you can travel around Miami via the elevated train. Other options for getting around would be taking Lyft or Uber, or using Citibikes. There are Citibike rental stations around town.

To and from the airport we have easy access via the metro rail on the Orange Line. It runs directly from Culmer Station b the property to the Miami Airport and takes about 20 minutes. Trains run every 7 minutes and 15 minutes on Sundays.

We have a cute neighborhood park walking distance from us on the Miami River called Spring Garden Point Park. Cross the Seybold Canal on 11th St, headed West, and turn left on NW 9th Ct and keep following to the left for four blocks to the park at the end.

We offer beach chairs, some floaties, beach towels and a beach umbrella for your use while you stay with us. Feel free to use them. We also have free laundry on-site if you need it.

Welcome home!

There's a few things we think you should know while staying with us.

To access the property you need a key to the front gate. The key will be left in a lock box by the front gate (code 357). Walk to the right past the house to the apartment building in the back. Your apartment is #1, the green door on the first floor and the keyless entry code is 1001.

The TV satellite service is accessed by the remote control. If you're having any difficulties with it, please don't hesitate to call or message us. Any food in the apartment is for you to enjoy and cook with.

Please be aware of the other guests on the property in terms of noise levels, particularly outside or late at night after 10pm. If you smoke, definitely do not smoke in the apartment, even with a window open. Occasional smoking on the patio is fine.

Please keep the front gate locked at all times as you enter and leave the property.

If you have any issues that come up during your stay, for instance, the AC units, the stove, the plumbing, needing more linens, locked out, etc, do not hesitate to call us any time of the day or night. We live only 10 minutes away and can help right away.

We always appreciate guests that leave the place clean and tidy. Make sure you look for all your belongings before you go. If items are stained with makeup or other mishaps, we do our best to remove the stains. If we're unable and items are damaged

and need replacing, we do use the deposit in rare instances. Please be considerate and use the makeup wipes provided.

The laundry at the back of the house is for general use. We ask for $3 per wash/dry and that you use your own detergent. Laundry hours for guests are before 11am and after 4pm, as we use the laundry for our cleaning service in the middle of the day.

The large maps under the carport let us know where you are from in the world. Please use the push pins to mark your home if you like. Sky is our resident super host cat, and she's friendly and likes to interact with guests. Her food is in the red cabinets next to the house, marked with a sign. Feel free to feed her as needed, but avoid feeding at night as we also tend to feed wildlife like possums, squirrels and raccoons.

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us!
