Great local hotel close to EVERYTHING.
I'm a local who lives above the 635 divide, and my friend was coming to visit from San Antonio. I decided the Belmont would be the perfect base for the weekend, and it was - great restaurant next door (Smoke), close to Oak Cliff Bishop Arts district, Downtown, Cedars, Deep Ellum - a great hub. It has a wonderful retro vibe, streamlined and sculpted Spanish influenced art deco. Being said, this place is old and the rooms are small. This is not the place for someone wanting a crazy-fluffy signature mattress and three shower heads. This is the place for someone who appreciates the character and age of the place, realizes what kind of limitations that will entail, and is using the room for a home base. It's adorable but the basic rooms are bare bones. The bed is perfectly comfy, the shower works great. Don't expect luxury and you'll like it just fine. Bar Belmont is attached, great place to meet locals. The pool has a view of the city skyline. It's just a fun place to stay with an aesthetic I enjoy, and it's close to so many things! We'll be back.

Friendly and relaxing
The staff is very helpful and friendly. The view of the Dallas skyline is amazing, but it's location is just far enough away that it feels peaceful and relaxing.
