Our room was much bigger than expected! Bed was a king sized and there was even a sitting area. Great location too.

Convenient simple hotel to Metro and Train
Hotel Paris Bastille is in a convenient location to sightsee in Central Paris. The room was not large, but had everything we needed to enjoy our 4 night stay, including a free breakfast with enough choice to start our day. The bathroom needed a soap dish or shelf in the shower; we had to place our soaps and shampoo on the floor. The breakfast attendant was very accommodating and pleasant. Metro and train are both nearby, and we took the train to/from CDG airport without using a Metro. This hotel was affordable and we had no overall issues. It helped to make our trip enjoyable. Take the Seine river cruise at night in the city of lights! Go up to the top of the Eiffel tower, and see the Mona Lisa at the Louvre! Immerse in the culture by walking to/from the sites. Then, go home and enjoy your life-long memories!

It served its purpose as a leg on our Europe tour. We stayed three nights. Really only used the hotel to sleep because we packed everything into our day. If our stay was longer/more relaxed I would have to find another place with bigger rooms. Two adults and one child, one suitcase each, we had to close the suitcase and sit it up to be able to walk by.

Wished I had asked for AC service...
Overall a good place to stay and get around Paris. The Bastille metro is really close and a Starbucks nearby did not hurt. The staff was very friendly and the small lobby was always clean. A few gripes though. The air conditioning in our room was either not working or worked very poorly. I tend to sleep at or near 70 degrees and the room must have been close to 80 and would not cool until about the middle of the night. I would have said something but we were only there for three days. Opening the windows would have fixed the problem but the hotel faces an often traveled road which had ambulances coming and going on a regular basis. To the credit of the hotel, when the windows were closed you really could not hear anything. The beds were okay but the room with three beds (as we needed) made for basically no room to move. Typical of a small European hotel. I now wish I had mentioned the failed AC as maybe it would have been quickly fixed. Unfortunately, my time there is really focused on how hot I was at night. People think of Paris as being cool but it has been getting near 90 degrees during our time here. As to the breakfast, it was good but definitely French. The hardier fare, such as the eggs and bacon were under cooked to American standards with the scrambled eggs runny and the bacon being lightly cooked. However, this may just be an American (or my) preference.
